More nighttime light pollution-> More Alzheimer’s disease

Very interesting
Circadian Rhythm Research Laboratory at Rush University, Chicago published this in Frontiers of Neuroscience.
Artificial nighttime outdoor light is strongly associated with increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease. This was true for people younger and older than 65. And yes, the difference was significant. This was more prevalent in people who have APOE4 genotype. 13% of the population have this genotype by the way. One caveat here is that the study relied on satellite images and not indoor lights. But I think the message is conveyed.nighttime

Just arranged a Stroke treatment ( Clot Retrieval) for a 95 year old man who developed sudden left side arm and leg weakness. The imaging showed a clot in the right side Middle Cerebral artery. The procedure is called Mechanical Thrombectomy, during which the clot (thrombus) is removed and blood circulation restored. The procedure aims at saving the brain tissue (colored green). The brain tissue (colored red) is the core of the infarction and already dead and cannot be saved.
