Addressing the complexity and urgency of today’s global health challenges, ‘Future Health’ was born from a bold ambition: to redefine what good health can look like for future generations to come, no matter where in the world you are.

11/05/2026

On the sidelines of the Milken Institute Global Conference, the Future Health Dialogue, hosted by H.E. Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, created space for conversations that spark new thinking and connections.

Bringing together perspectives from across the health ecosystem, the discussions reflected a shared focus: how we move from insight to action in shaping better health outcomes.

This is a glimpse of what intentional convening looks like, with progress in global health is built through collaboration.

Detection of disease has moved closer to the source. From wastewater surveillance to genomic tracking and real-time data, health systems are now identifying risk before it reaches clinical settings, driving earlier decisions, containing transmission faster, and building systems that anticipate rather than react.

COVID-19 has been one of the clearest examples of why this shift matters. It didn't begin when we detected it. It began earlier, in signals we were not yet capturing. By the time cases were confirmed, transmission was already global.

That moment reshaped how we think about health systems. Earlier signals now enable earlier decisions.

Detection is no longer about confirming what has happened, but sensing what is about to.

A new model of health is emerging — one that starts earlier.

Anticipatory health systems shift care from treatment to prediction and prevention, enabling earlier intervention and better outcomes.

Through the Future Health Challenge 2026, innovators worldwide are turning data into action, from AI diagnostics to real-time health intelligence.

Malaria remains one of the world's most preventable health challenges, and the tools to prevent it already exist.

The shift is happening in how we use data. Outbreak sensing draws on climate patterns, satellite mapping, and case trend analysis, moving public health from reaction to prediction, and flagging risk before transmission takes hold.

Since 2000, this approach has been backed by organisations including the Gates Foundation and the Global Fund, helping avert an estimated 2.3 billion cases and saving at least 14 million lives.

The future of malaria prevention lays in outbreak sensing.
