Flaxseed isn’t a staple in Kerala cuisine but given it’s popularity and availability, most Malayalis are familiar with this ingredient.

It’s a great source of omega-3 fatty acids & rich in fibre.

The idea shared can be tweaked to your personal preference. Feel free to make thenga chamanthi from scratch. For those who are time poor adopt what we shared.

The bottle of readymade chamanthi is about 200g & we took 100g of flaxseeds. The chamanthi takes on a subtle nutty flavor from the roasted flaxseeds yet it’s not overpowering. You can tweak this proportion to suit your preference.

Best to roast the flaxseed first and then powder it. You can stop roasting once the flaxseeds start to pop.

Let us know if you’d give this a try 🙋🏻‍♀️

PART 2 : Nutrition is nuanced & the sooner you get that, the quieter all the noise becomes.

Social media has done an excellent job 🤨of flattening nutrition into one word answers and single food solutions.

Part 2 of our story is about why we decided to push back on that & take the conversation somewhere more honest and evidence based.

“It depends”, it always depends and this is what we are choosing to say loudly, again and again🙋🏻‍♀️

Part 2 is up 👆

P.S : Four brave souls said hello yesterday. The rest of you read it, felt it and scrolled on quietly. Very on-brand for this community honestly😎🙌🏻

If part 2 resonates give us a ❤️we want to know you are here🤗

Meal planning doesn’t start with a recipe. Most days it starts with opening your fridge.

What’s already there? What needs to go first? Cook around that.

2026 seems to be challenging with the way things are. So saving food, gas, water, and time isn’t a lifestyle choice anymore.

A balanced diet includes not wasting but also being very intentional about how we do it.

What’s the one thing sitting in your fridge right now that needs to go first, tell us in the comments👇

Don’t waste your time on fad diets and trends. They are not sustainable!

Give the Balanced Diet a shot!

If you are someone who’s living a sedentary lifestyle then you may have to make a few changes - both in mindset & habits. This is very similar to any fad diet.

Examples - We may have to reduce the quantity of rice. We may have to buy and prepare more vegetables. We may have to put new systems in place that will ensure we aren’t spending a lot of time cleaning & cutting veggies - ingredient prepping? delegating? We may have to tweak recipes to hide veggies, reduce oil from popular traditional recipes, stop listening to people fighting about plant protein vs animal protein…I could go & on.

Once you make the required changes - your meals will support you to live your best life effortlessly! And the best part? It will be a diet that you can identify with.

Chor, kappa, thoran, aviyal, meen curry etc-you could eat it for as long as you live while supporting the delay/ prevention lifestyle diseases like Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol etc.

Nutrition and diet shouldn’t be complicated considering eating is a lifelong activity & that’s exactly why we created a course
that explains and takes you through this. Link is in the bio 👆

Rice + chamanthi is a full meal for many amongst us & honestly? No judgement, it is both delicious & comforting. But here’s what nobody told us....that chamanthi is a condiment, not a curry. And that one shift in thinking will change everything about how you build your plate.

Most of us didn’t grow up with nutrition labels or meal plans. The food abundant environment alongside our inactive lifestyle makes it even harder to grasp things.

This course is for the ones cooking Kerala food while also trying to feed ourselves and our families well without losing what makes the food ours.

Come learn with us to build balanced meals with the food you already love. Sharing the link👇
