An unplanned video and the moment from today. We wanted to practice together but she wasn’t feeling well. So we danced. The dog barked. The toy was squeaky. We still danced, then she fell asleep in my arms. At 30 kg I can still carry her. I am happy when I get to.

So much blessings in every interrupted moment . In every « spoiled «  plan. ..How do we so often miss to see the grace in every fleeting moment on this short runaway…?

When nothing goes according to plan, everything else does. The grace of Trust, the most important skill we can learn in our lifetime .

I am still learning and leaning.

Life is a dance between effort & surrender . Planned and unplanned . Darkness & light. Good & bad. Happy & sad. Beauty & terror .

Still, keep dancing .

For the last few years I have been starting my year with a Jan 1st practice with my Dubai community. I can’t imagine nothing better to be honest but to be in the company of other yogis, to give & receive blessings through movement , breath, stillness and chanting sacred mantras. 🙏

This year we begin again with an intention to anchor us in 2026. An intention to keep our hearts open to ALL that is ahead of us. 🧡

I hope to see some old friends ( many have became moms and priorities have naturally shifted), the regulars( who keep showing up year after year) and new friends ( always a joy to grow our yoga community). 🥰

Sending love this holiday season ! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from us! 🎄🤶🏾🎅🏾

Let us all love more, forgive more and give more . Judge less, ourselves and others. That’s the only way to be. To be truly happy and live a life of purpose. Let that wisdom guides us all.

Love love love ❤️

Ps. Second pic Christmas 2015 . Just two weeks prior we returned from Ethiopia with our son Obbi and got to celebrate our first Christmas as a family of 4. 🧡 🤗🙏

This year has carried me deeper into Bhakti in a way I never expected. Or planned.

When my body couldn’t move the way it used to after injury, my heart still wanted to practice… and it found its way through mantra, sound, and devotion.🙏

Amma Amma Taye is a chant to the Divine Mother, an invocation of unconditional love, protection, and the comforting presence that lives within and around us. ❤️

A reminder that you can always return to the heart.
You can always return to love.

Movement will come back in its own time.
But the devotion was here all along. And now it’s opening some new visions for me.

And as this path unfolds, my classes in 2026 will begin to reflect this shift… a little more Bhakti, a little more heart, a little more of what feels true and alive for me now.

I look forward to sharing in with you in 2026. 🧡

I’ve always loved this rendition of Jai Radha Madhav by Deva Premal, one of those chants that stays in your heart long before you ever learn to sing or play it. I play it in my class often too.

And now, years later, here I am… finally learning it on the harmonium. This is my first few tries so not perfect but I am not here for perfect. ☺️

What this also reminds me of is that we are never too far from where we’re meant to be.
When you follow the quiet pull of your heart, step by step, breath by breath…it always leads you back to what you love. Or meant to love.

Jai Radha Madhav is a chant that honors Radha and Krishna-the embodiment of divine love, devotion, and the sweetness of the heart.
Singing it feels like remembering something ancient and familiar.

For me, that path has been yoga… and now Bhakti yoga too. It feels like coming home.
🌸🕉️💛

Who’s up for trying this in class tomorrow?
We meet at 10 AM come practice, breathe, and share a little devotion with me.

Lately I’ve been filming my own practice not to “show” anything, but to see where I am as I return from injury and post surgery. Then of course that inspires me to reflect on other things .

And here it is: simple movement, steady breath, and a few honest struggles along the way. ( today I tried not a difficult arm balance for the first time since March and man it felt heavy and wobbly 🫠).

My flows aren’t complicated. I can’t take complicated & fast mentally even when I am on a receiving end . (I was never good at Step Aerobics so it stems from long ago ! ) 😅

My practice and teaching is never about performing, chasing shapes, or keeping up with trends.

For me it’s about listening.
Softening.
And meeting your body where it actually is today.

Somewhere along the way, teaching yoga became about these complex transitions on transitions, choreography, acrobatics, and pressure to do “more.” And to be innovative and different and liked and popular and blah blah blah .Boring story 🥱.

But yoga itself hasn’t changed.
It’s still presence.
It’s still breath.
It’s still the courage to begin again.
This is the kind of practice I teach .. simple, but not easy.
Accessible, but still strong. ( btw I count like 🐢 )
Rooted, but expansive in all the quiet ways that matter.

In our next class we’ll keep opening hips and hamstrings, explore a few arm balances, and slowly build toward Compass Pose. 🧭

I know you know this but: You don’t have to be flexible. You don’t have to be advanced. This is yoga, not an audition for Cirque du Soleil.

See you on the mat. Thursday 10 am downtown Zoga.

Chant is medicine.

Breath is devotion.

Voice is prayer.

And sharing it is an act of faith & surrender. Service above all.

Calling in Ganesha ( aka Elephant God) remover of obstacles, opener of doors, guardian of new chapters.

May this mantra clear the path for all who need a fresh start, a little courage, or a quiet reminder that support is always near. Jai Ganesha ! 🙏

“Whatever you receive in this moment, let it be enough.” — The Upanishads 🙏

The Upanishads teach that true contentment doesn’t come from getting more ( or better ), it comes from seeing clearly what is already here.

This line has been echoing in me since returning to teaching. After months of healing and uncertainty, I walked back into the studio unsure of how it would feel… and doubts if any of you would return to practice with me . 🙈. After all , yoga choices in Dubai these days are abundant.

What I received was your warmth, your smiles, your presence, your willingness to meet me exactly where I am. Physically and emotionally.

Thank you for welcoming me back so wholeheartedly. 🙏 so I guess I still have a “job” that I love so much . ☺️

Thank you for allowing me to teach from a much softer place, a humbler place, a more human place. I know now how it feels to be injured, to be in recovery, to be low energy, to have physical limitations that prevent from many postures. But I also know that this practice is way beyond the physical. I hope you do too.

Thank you for reminding me that yoga is always a relationship..breath to body, teacher to student, heart to heart.

And I feel that teaching is not something I give to you, it’s something we create together. Together.

And what we’ve created this week has filled me more than words can say.
I’m grateful for each of you.
I’m grateful for this sangha (community).
And I’m grateful for this moment just as it is.
🧡

See you Sunday 9:30 am for more breath, chanting and heart to heart connection 🙏

My first Friday class back after months of healing felt so tender. We explored Hanumanasana ( aka splits ), opening the heart, trusting the leap.. and after the students were gone I stayed to record this - Baba Hanuman (by Krishna Das) 🎶

Hanuman reminds us that strength is devotion in action, service born from love. It teaches to serve with love, to rise with grace and to trust that even when we fall, we can always return. Always. 🙏

If your heart’s been longing to return to what you love, may this chant be your reminder to begin again. 💛

Poetic translation :

Victory to Hanuman, the great servant
of the Lord.
Embodiment of devotion, strength, and compassion.
May your courage awaken in our hearts.
May we remember love in all that we do. ❤️

“Every morning we are born again. What we do today matters most.” — Buddha

After a few months of slowing down, healing, and finding my way back to practice, I’m finally back on the mat , and so grateful to be here again. This time away reminded me that yoga isn’t about how far we go, but how deeply we listen.

If you’ve been needing a little reset too, come move and breathe with me. Let’s begin again… gently, intentionally, and with open hearts.

Return to The Well: Gentle Yoga, Bhakti & Connection- a Mini Retreat Afternoon with Danica 🌸

I am excited to return to the studio after a long break, for something a little different 🤩

On Saturday, October 11th from 3:30 PM- 5 PM join me for a 90-minute mini retreat afternoon — a nourishing blend of gentle movement, chanting, singing and sweet spacious stillness. 🪷

The Well is a place we come to for nourishment, rest, and renewal. This is an invitation to step away from your everyday routine and drink deeply — through gentle movement, chanting, and stillness. I see it as kind of a 90-minute mini retreat to reconnect with yourself and your community.

Together we’ll sip from this inner well through:

🌿 Gentle movement to soften and open the body
🎶 Soulful chanting (kirtan) to awaken the heart
🕊️ Meditation and stillness to settle the mind

🧡You don’t need to be a singer or experienced in mantra — just bring your breath, your presence, and an open heart.

📍 Zoga, DIC
🕓 Saturday, October 11th | 3:30–5:00 PM
💫 FREE ( community gatheting, space limited)

I would love to share this with you. And hug you . I’ve missed you. ☺️🥰
