This patient has done brilliantly after tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and breast lift (mastopexy), which can be combined safely in appropriately selected patients. This is often called a ‘mummy makeover’.

In this lady’s case, no breast implants have been used, but the breasts have been ‘auto-augmented’ with her own tissue. Recovery takes 4-6 weeks and wounds are usually healed by 2-3 weeks. A garment is worn for 4-6 weeks post-op for support; you can make out the indentations from this in the photos as there is still some swelling. Her results will improve even further in the coming weeks! 🤩

Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck is one of my favourite operations, and so it’s great to receive positive feedback from this kind (and very happy) patient! 🙌

Often, as part of the procedure, I perform liposuction to further sculpt the abdominal area, and if required, tighten the sixpack muscles in the midline, improving core strength and stability. 💪

I offer all types of cosmetic breast surgery in my clinic, and I am delighted for this lady who underwent exchange of breast implants, along with breast uplift or mastopexy in a single-stage operation. 🙌 She has had a great result, which will improve further with time, but this is actually a deceptively complex case. 🤔 In the before photos, you can appreciate that she suffered with a number of issues including breast deformity due to capsule formation/contracture making the breasts appear almost triangular in shape, and wide-spaced. Furthermore, there is drooping or ptosis of the breasts, and visible pec muscle contraction or ‘dynamic deformity’. She also has a ruptured implant on one side.

As with any cosmetic surgery, there are a number of important decisions to make, even after you have chosen your surgeon. In clinic, I help to guide you through each one and explain the rationale behind all decision-making. 👍 In this lady’s case, the decisions included the surgical approach to use, the type of mastopexy to perform, what to do about the deformities caused by the muscle contraction and capsule formation, along with the type and size of implant to use. 🩺

So, you may have thought that plastic surgeons did not administer Botox…But actually, we are the only specialty that trains in aesthetic appreciation and analysis from the very start. I’m delighted to share this lady’s great transformation after full abdominoplasty with liposuction, and repair of the six-pack muscles in the midline. 🙌 Her results will improve further as her scars settle and her swelling improves.

Sometimes it doesn’t matter how fit you are or how much time you put in at the gym, it can be really difficult to shift the loose tissues on the tummy, particularly after childbirth or significant weight loss. Surgery in the form of tummy tuck or abdominoplasty can be a way forward in properly selected patients.

Her results speak for themselves, and are also a testament to the hard work that she put in before the operation to be at her optimum weight, and in great health generally. This is the best starting point for any cosmetic surgery. 👍
