🌿 From One Small Room in Kathmandu, a Big Conversation Started... 🌿
During a home visit in Kathmandu, we sat in the tiny room a mother and her daughter called home. It was clean and tidy — but it was so small, it was hard to imagine all the worries they carried inside.
Then, she asked a simple but powerful question:
“Can we talk about mental health?”
That question changed everything. It sparked a session where parents — mostly single mums working hard, often alone, and struggling to provide even one meal a day for their kids — gathered to share, listen, and heal.
💬 Here’s what we learned:
Parents carry a heavy emotional load — the fear of not being able to feed their children or send them to school.
Many feel lonely, especially when fathers have to travel far for work, leaving mums to manage everything.
Mental health is about more than illness. It’s about strength, connection, and hope.
During the session, we created a safe, judgment-free space. We shared simple ways to manage stress and encouraged parents to care for themselves, even in the smallest moments.
✨ Because when mums are supported, children thrive. ✨
This conversation didn’t end there. It opened the door for more questions, more stories, and a stronger community.
To every parent out there facing tough days:
You’re not alone. Your feelings matter. Your mental health matters. And your courage to speak up can change lives.
