Michelle Baraba is a self-taught Croatian artist based in Singapore, who has been passionate about creating since she was 5 years old. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from LASALLE College of the Arts and is expected to graduate in May 2021.
Due to her experiential art therapy training, Michelle is acquainted with a wide variety of art media and their corresponding therapeutic properties. She chooses materials based on her mood, and mostly incorporates acrylic paint, gouache, yarn, collage, and ink in her work. Embracing her feminine energy, the dynamic colour combinations and themes in Michelle’s artworks are strongly influenced by Asian culture, mysticism and elements of the natural world.
Michelle made her artistic debut in 2016 in Gallery Mona, Tokyo, as part of a group art exhibition featuring 24 internationally established and emerging artists.

Introducing

Paskalia Prameswari Wardhani (b.1996) is an emerging Visual Artist based in Indonesia. Her art practice portrays mental issues, coping mechanism, depicting emotions within human beings, as well as objectification of the female body.

"... I feel that Art itself, as a form of therapy, is a mediator for my own spirituality towards my "Zen" moments and empowerment for my personal self. Yet the result of every artworks that I produced, whether they are good or not - satisfying or not, are some kind of a visible form of my memories and paths, which I also considered them as a subject matter, another soul that has different values in it."

Being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and Post-Traumatic Syndrome Disorder
(PTSD) has inspired her art and it has been her survival strategy to go through her darkest hour or even her lowest point of life. Considering this method as one of her coping mechanisms, she believes that all of her works as a visible visual memories, whether it's good or bad, form her psychosis and thoughts.

Not forgetting about the live subject matter and objects aspects in life, she loves the act of an observer in her daily life. It includes using the five human senses to observe and feel connected with the world, being empathetic and finding a meaning behind people's stories and worthiness; and also to find beauty in daily objects.

This leads to her form of spiritual mediation to achieve some sort of no-mindedness, to stop the moment for a while and be grateful, to look and feel the moments, in which, she also believes that everyone has their own spiritual terms to calm their own mind.

"... From what happened in the past, what I experienced, what I felt at that time, I try to turn it into something meaningful in my works."
