LIFE CHANGING - Any big change that you make, dietary or otherwise, isn’t going to happen overnight. Sometimes, you may revert to old habits because they are familiar or you’re not totally ready to let go of them. If this happens, remember to be patient with yourself – take a step back and recognize that even if your diet got off track briefly, you don’t have to throw in the towel! In fact, this is often just a part of the process of changing your diet.

Save this post and re read these pointers that will help you take step back and think the next time you find yourself going off track. DM to join my health and wellness programs to help you change your lifestyle in the most sustainable way.

From getting to know each other to knowing the other and predicting their thoughts and actions…that’s what marriage does, or rather, familiarity. Two people work hard at building something, without realising what they are really aiming for, with no vision of the final goal as maybe there isn’t one; or maybe it just keeps changing.

To hold your heart above mine, hasn’t always been easy or come naturally, but it does at some point. ❤️Some consciously, some without effort. I feel that has been my biggest learning from you. You remind me to be a better version of myself and to love myself, even the parts which I feel don’t deserve so much love.🤗

“How do you love someone so much? You love people just because you do. And you always want them to be happy.”

People have been fixated for decades with the question of whether a high-carb/low-fat or a low-fat/high-carb approach is better for our health. ⁉️There really is no correct answer to this question because we do not simply eat macronutrients like carbohydrates and fats.

A food should always be considered as a total package, in which the nutritional value is not determined by its individual components but by their collective impact. 🍽🍛
A healthy diet should not be aiming for a specific ratio; instead, the emphasis should be on choosing high-quality, nutritious foods. There is no single optimal ratio between the three macronutrients fat, protein, and carbohydrates. The precise proportion of macros on someone’s plate will be influenced by their particular personal preferences, state of health, and fitness goals.

There are however, minimum thresholds for all three macronutrients that apply to the vast majority of people. For instance, 🥜🥚protein should make up at least 10 percent of your nutritional energy intake. In many cases, for those following a vegan diet, it is advisable to get a slightly higher protein intake of around 15 %. For fat, 🥑🫒the aim should be to consume a minimum of 20 percent in relation to your overall energy intake. And a lower limit of 40 percent of your nutritional energy has been identified for carbohydrate intake 🍞🍠🍚. If high- quality, nutritious sources of carbohydrates are chosen, the proportion of carbohydrate can happily be higher than 40 percent. In fact even 50-60% is conceivable, provided these larger quantities of carbohydrate are not consumed at the expense of essential fatty acids and amino acids. Fibre has to be 30g or more per day. 🥬
No single macronutrient should be excessively restricted. 😊

What's the craziest thing you've heard about weight loss and nutrition? Let me know in the comments. There are so many things we hear, read and see on social media nowadays. Some of the most popular myths are that eating less, counting calories and restricting certain food groups are the keys to weight loss. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Too much importance is given to strict rules without taking into consideration how unique and individual everyone’s preferences are as well as their body type. So the same rules might not work for everyone when it comes to nutrition. A holistic approach is what is most important as well as what is realistic and sustainable. There is NO “best” diet and we need not fear food or become rigid in our approach towards health and food.

Understand your own body and be curious around myths and what the media feeds you. 🤔Try things out for yourself before blindly following someone else’s routine or diet. So many factors are involved when it comes to health and weight. Enjoy your strengths, don’t compare your body with another and focus on your own goals. Acknowledge small wins and keep your expectations realistic!

- We can never fully express how sorry we are
To the ones we love the most.
It is them who we keep hurting
In our slights and expectations,
Our pushing and nit-picking;
Most of all, in a failure to really see
Beyond our notions and paltriness.
But we can always try.

Realization is concomitant with love.
As we come closer to an understanding of ourselves
And start seeing the other as the same,
It changes us in ways we never could have imagined.
Knowing all this,
One cannot set about working on it beforehand.
One must love first in order to understand.
Do you agree?

HEALTHY DIET? Here are my top 5 tips for a healthy and sustainable diet that will help you reach your goals AND stay healthy 💪🏼

✨Don’t demonize fat
✨Eat the rainbow
✨Be clever with salt
✨Optimize mineral absorption
✨Count hours instead of calories

There is no need to be scared of fat🥑🌰🥜🫒 in your diet. The focus should be on getting enough healthy fats through nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados and limit intake of fats from industrially hydrogenated plant fats/oils. 🛢

Eat a colourful range of foods as far as possible. 🌈The darker and stronger the colour, the richer the food will be in secondary plant substances. A few examples are: red peppers 🌶 , tomatoes, 🍅strawberries, 🥕carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, 🍠turmeric, leafy greens, 🥬blueberries, blackberries, 🫐red cabbage.
🧂Reducing salt intake can significantly lower blood pressure and thus reduce the associated risk of cardiovascular disease. 🫀Deliberately reducing salt lets us seek out tasty alternatives that are healthy & packed with flavour. Like Fresh and dried herbs, salt-free spice mixes, low sodium salt, vinegar, etc.

When it comes to minerals like iron, calcium, and zinc, it is extremely important to optimize their absorption through Vitamin C, protein, Vitamin D, prebiotics and probiotics.

Our health is affected by what we eat, what we do not eat, how much we eat, and how we eat. ⏰When we eat and do not eat also has an influence. Eat more generous quantities during the first half of the day☀️and, most importantly, avoid eating anything immediately before 🛏bedtime. (Allow a 3 hour gap at least).

Not what you expected? But this is how SIMPLE a healthy diet is. TRY IT - DM to get on my health coaching & diet plans today.😊

HEY! 🙋‍♀️We are not here to be perfect. We are here to love well, and to understand ourselves. It is important to reflect, examine and change, every now and then. Always ask yourself whose goals are you pursuing. Yours? Or someone else’s? 🔎You do not need to go on doing things simply because others around you or those important to you believe in it.

Give yourself permission to dream big and don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself and your needs. 🗣Let your values drive your goals. You cannot be everything for everybody, so stop trying to!
And most importantly, remember to breathe deeply and practice gratitude! 🙏

Which of the 6 points hit you the most? Lets have an open discussion. 😊

Did you read them all? Now read them again OUT LOUD. 📣We are often caught in a vicious cycle of negative thinking, self-criticism, fear & false beliefs right? We might not realise how profoundly the media impacts our conditioning.📺

It is very important to keep checking if we have any negative self- talk going on consciously or unconsciously, or wrongly held beliefs about food & our bodies. 🗣

Self-love can simply begin by taking time out for yourself, investing in your health and doing things you enjoy and love. 😌Fitness and healing should be long term goals for the body and this can take any amount of time as it varies from person to person. Honour your unique needs. Learn to listen to what your body is telling you.
Too many restrictions and self imposed rules can only lead to a lack of interest and a feeling of inadequacy. Be patient and celebrate small wins! 🥳

If you need someone to guide you through the process and hold you accountable you can sign up with a health coach like me.
From your diet to your lifestyle, daily habits, moods & more. I help you get better and reach your goals. DM or comment below to know more

It has been a while since I have shared one of my poems. Beginning this amazing month of december with gratitude & love for everyone out here 🤗🙏

In this particular moment
Where I have nothing on my list left,
And nowhere to rush to,
I take in the sound of the traffic passing by
And the breeze that comes along this time of the year.
And I am compelled to just say thank you-
To you most of all,
For making this life of ours here possible,
In this way.
There is no other place I’d rather be;
And despite the dizzying lights and busyness,
There’s a peace in knowing that all of what we have
Is ours to cherish,
At least for now.
Wherever life leads us next,
We can always make something beautiful
Out of what we are given,
Together.

It’s Tarot Tuesday! Today’s card is Judgement. How many of you feel that there’s a strong urge or calling that you can’t ignore any longer? The reality of life has changed, says the Judgment card, and there is no choice but to follow. 🥳

Great changes and opportunities are on the horizon, but before you can decide on your direction, certain past issues need to be addressed. An additional meaning of this card is being in the public eye, hence Fame is the card’s alternative title. 🤩

This card also predicts a spiritual awakening, as you feel called to explore your potential. Another important reminder here is - letting go of the past.

Somehow this card reminds me of some of the teachings of my favourite teachers. “Don’t look back. The past is nothing but a graveyard and in dealing with it you are only dealing in something that is dead and non-existent.”

Let me know if this card speaks to you in some way or holds true at this time 😊

Our body as a whole experiences every emotion we have. When we become depressed every cell in our body feels it; our immune defenses are lowered, and we are more likely to become ill. What is Disease? The body not being at ease, This happens due to imbalances within the body. Healing begins when these imbalances are corrected, treating the person as a whole rather than just the symptoms.

Healing is a holistic approach, treating body, mind and soul. Symptoms are nothing but the body’s message. Too much grief can manifest in the lungs, 🫁hatred in the heart, 🫀fear in the kidneys, anger in the liver and bitterness in the spleen and pancreas. 🗣Energy healing like Reiki, Pranic, Theta healing, etc can be used in physical injury, emotional trauma, stress, cleansing, and when feeling overworked and overburdened. It helps in balancing the body’s own energy field. ⚡️

Good health occurs when an organism and its components (i.e. cells and organs) vibrate at optimum functioning; bad health strikes when these components vibrate adversely, challenging the ability to function. External vibration or energy also affects all organisms, including people. If exposed to harmful vibrations or energy, our bodies suffer and we become unhealthy.

A healer is essentially someone who helps another person realise his or her inherent wholeness, regardless of appearances or the outcome of treatment. When we take responsibility, things change.

Healing is not a replacement for medical treatment but rather an additional way that wellness is brought within our reach. It assists in the body’s overall health and well being. Healing is more than a technique. It is about recognizing where blockages are and how to correct them.

Did you know that the brain is the most metabolically active organ? 🧠It uses 25 % of the calories you consume. 😲As body fat increases, the size of a person’s brain shrinks in proportion to the same. As we age our brains shrink in volume, particularly in the frontal cortex. As our vasculature ages and our blood pressure rises the possibility of stroke and ischemic increases and our white matter develops lesions. Memory decline also occurs with ageing and brain activation becomes more bilateral for memory tasks.

While you can see above the things you need to avoid that accelerates brain aging. Here are a few things that help reduce it aging faster than usual ✅A Positive peer group, ✅Conscientiousness,
✅Clean environment,
✅Physical health
✅Healthy weight
✅6-8 hours of sleep
✅Learning new things
✅A balanced diet
✅Omega 3
✅Exercise
✅Stress Management
✅Gratitude

I know this is a relatively less discussed topic but very important. Comment below if you have any questions regarding this for me😊

- - OATMEAL Breaakfast - Save this post and try when you want. All you need is
✨ ½ Cup Rolled oats
✨ 1 large banana
✨ 1-2 dried figs roughly chopped (optional)
✨A handful of goji berries
✨ ½ tsp vanilla extract
✨¼ tsp salt
✨½ tsp cinnamon powder
✨1.5 cups water/almond milk
✨1 tbsp peanut or almond butter
For the toppings: chia seeds, sunflower, pumpkin and roasted flaxseeds, desiccated coconut, berry compote 🍓

Place the oats, goji berries, figs in a vessel on the stove. Mash the banana and add it to the mix. Then Add the salt, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Add the water/milk and turn on the stove to a low flame setting. Stir a little and allow to cook. Also, Stir in between as it thickens. Once almost done (around 5-7 mins) add in the nut butter and stir well for a minute and then turn off the flame. If you feel it is too thick you can add a little more water/milk for a thinner consistency. Top it up with any/all of the toppings mentioned and enjoy!

Let me know if you try this recipe 😊Oatmeal is one of my all time favourites when it comes to breakfast. Simple, easy to cook, warm and nourishing. You can always bring in variety by adding apples /peaches instead of banana when cooking the oats or using steel cut oats and pressure cooking it. Try making it with a different plant based milk or top it with coconut yoghurt for extra creaminess! 🤩

Shuffle shuffle to reveal the card of the day - The Smoky Mirror. 🪞This card represents the aspects of what is implied yet cannot be immediately known in the world, the mystery of how things come together and how they fall apart without obvious causality. This symbol also represents the shadow of the human psyche, the parts of the self that one disowns.

The Smoky Mirror can also represent a state of denial, or the inability or refusal to see the truth.
When this card appears, you’re invited to see beyond your own self. Acknowledge that, past the limits of your current ability to perceive, there is a vast interconnected world where events are orchestrated in divine order but challenging to fully grasp. Now is the time to trust that no matter what the current conditions of your world reflect, no matter where you are on your journey, know that some things are meant to be a mystery, which you are meant to understand only through experience.

Take heart, for The Smoky Mirror will ultimately show you beauty and wonder once the fog lifts the distortion you see now.
Your fears and expectations of disappointment and unworthiness may be clouding your capacity to see the potential in yourself and others. Can you relate to this?🤔
