HEALTHY DIET? Here are my top 5 tips for a healthy and sustainable diet that will help you reach your goals AND stay healthy 💪🏼
✨Don’t demonize fat
✨Eat the rainbow
✨Be clever with salt
✨Optimize mineral absorption
✨Count hours instead of calories
There is no need to be scared of fat🥑🌰🥜🫒 in your diet. The focus should be on getting enough healthy fats through nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados and limit intake of fats from industrially hydrogenated plant fats/oils. 🛢
Eat a colourful range of foods as far as possible. 🌈The darker and stronger the colour, the richer the food will be in secondary plant substances. A few examples are: red peppers 🌶 , tomatoes, 🍅strawberries, 🥕carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, 🍠turmeric, leafy greens, 🥬blueberries, blackberries, 🫐red cabbage.
🧂Reducing salt intake can significantly lower blood pressure and thus reduce the associated risk of cardiovascular disease. 🫀Deliberately reducing salt lets us seek out tasty alternatives that are healthy & packed with flavour. Like Fresh and dried herbs, salt-free spice mixes, low sodium salt, vinegar, etc.
When it comes to minerals like iron, calcium, and zinc, it is extremely important to optimize their absorption through Vitamin C, protein, Vitamin D, prebiotics and probiotics.
Our health is affected by what we eat, what we do not eat, how much we eat, and how we eat. ⏰When we eat and do not eat also has an influence. Eat more generous quantities during the first half of the day☀️and, most importantly, avoid eating anything immediately before 🛏bedtime. (Allow a 3 hour gap at least).
