HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS?

AN OPEN LETTER FROM A CHILD TO HIS TEACHER

Sad but true.

A teacher after the dinner she started checking homework done by the students. Her husband is strolling around with a smart phone playing his favourite game ‘Candy Crush Saga’.

When reading the last note, the wife starts crying with silent tears.

Her husband saw this and asked, ‘Why are you crying dear?

What happened?’

Wife: ‘Yesterday I gave homework to my 1st Standard students, to write something on topic -My Wish-.

’Husband: ‘OK, but why are you crying?

’Wife: ‘Today while checking the last note, it makes me crying.

’Husband curiously: ‘What’s written in the note that makes you crying?

’Wife: ‘Listen’

My wish is to become a smart phone.

My parents love smart phone very much.

They care smart phone so much that sometimes they forget to care me.When my father comes from office tired, he has time for smart phone but not for me.

When my parents are doing some important work and smart phone is ringing, within single ring they attend the phone, but not me even...even if I am crying.

They play games on their smart phones not with me.When they are talking to someone on their smart phone, they never listen to me even if I am telling something important.

So, My wish is to become a smart phone.

After listening the note husband got emotional and asked the wife, ‘who wrote this?’.

Wife: ‘Our son’.

THE MAGIC OF CELEBRATING BEDTIME STORIES WITH YOUR CHILDREN

Bedtime stories are beneficial for both parents and children
We all lead busy lives these days, so it can be hard to develop a routine that works for everyone.

Do you find yourself rushing home from work only to find you've missed the opportunity to read your little one a bedtime story? Or are you simply too tired?

A recent survey by TomTom revealed that a third of parents never read to their kids before bed, but child psychologist Dr. Richard Woolfson stresses that storytime before bed can benefit everyone.

He said: “A bedtime story can be so rewarding for young children. It relaxes them before sleep, boosts their development, stimulates their interest in reading and enhances the parent-child bond.

"So a bedtime story is in fact good for both children and parents.

"The average bedtime story takes just 16 minutes, so with a little bit of planning it can easily become part of your child’s end-of-day pre-sleep routine."

Do you read to your children before bed? We'd love to hear your book reviews! Send them to us ric_lt@icloud.com

READING to your children

5 top tips for a successful bedtime story from child psychologist

Dr Richard Woolfson provided these tips for helping children to read as part of his work conducting a survey with navigation company TomTom.

Here are Dr Woolfson's top five tips for a successful bedtime story:

1. Be determined
Aim to read your child a story for 10 minutes every night, but start by reading a story one night a week and gradually build up the frequency from there. You'll find it's much easier and more satisfying than you expect.

2. Avoid interruptions
Make sure that you ring-fence the time you set aside for this activity. So don't answer the phone, put down your gadgets and devote yourself exclusively to your child while you read to them.

3. Involve your child
Ask your child to choose the story they want you to read, either from their bookshelf or from your local library. And don't worry if it's one you have read several times before - children enjoy familiarity and repetition.

4. Keep everything relaxed
Since one of the main aims of the bedtime story is to calm your child before sleep, it makes sense to avoid reading tales that are too exciting, too thrilling or too scary. Ask guidance from your local library.

5. Enjoy yourselves
Story-telling is meant to be fun for you and your child. Snuggle together as you read, let your child look at the pages as you read, and talk about the story together once you have finished. Then, it's time for sleep!

The Power of READING before a child is born.

There’s no better way to for us to inspire you, the expectant father, to read to your baby before birth than for you to hear from fellow daddies who have experienced the magic of in-utero reading firsthand. We just happen to have some amazing stories from a couple of incredible dads-to-be who bonded with their expected child by reading to Mommy’s baby bump. We’ll wow you with their stories first, and then tell you all about the evidence supporting this practice and also how to begin!

Meet Everett Bowes. He’s a first-time father who, as you can see from the photo below, is truly enjoying the benefits of having read to his son before he was born. Everett heard about the benefits of prenatal storytime, and…well you can hear it from him:

Early in my wife’s pregnancy we heard about the benefits of reading to a baby still in the womb. . . . I read to Emerson every day. In fact, I often read to him multiple times per day.

When he was just a few weeks old I read it to him for the first time outside the womb. We were shocked at his response. He seemed to recognize the story immediately, including all of my silly accents for the different characters.

He made sounds and waved his arms excitedly as we read. Babies his age don’t smile like this, yet he wouldn’t stop smiling, squealing, and waving. We couldn’t believe how clearly he recognized the story.

This is one of our most treasured memories.

Your first week of pregnancy begins before the actual conception of the baby. Thus, your folic acid supplements should also be taken prior to getting a positive on the pregnancy test.

The second week of pregnancy is when the conception actually occurs. So make sure to stay away from to***co and alcohol from here on out.

Implantation bleeding might occur during the third week.

During week four is when you might get your first positive on a home pregnancy test.

Don’t worry if your memory starts to falter during the fifth week of pregnancy. It’s common to suffer from pregnancy brain.

Ectopic pregnancies are rare. However, it’s still a good idea to notify your doctor if you experience unilateral pain during the early weeks of pregnancy.

Get to know your company’s maternity leave policy early on in your pregnancy.

You might be able to hear your baby’s heart beating for the first time at eight weeks.

Want to prevent bladder leakage during pregnancy? Practice kegels daily.

If you’re suffering from morning sickness, try a little ginger to soothe the nausea.

Drink lots of water to keep urinary tract infections away.

Expect to catch a glimpse of your baby via ultrasound during the twelfth week.

Week 13 is when the second trimester officially starts. So if you’ve been waiting to share the news, it’s time to start getting creative.

Once your morning sickness has subsided, it’s time to give prenatal yoga a chance.

A belly band can keep you in your pre-pregnancy clothes longer.

Need a healthy pregnancy snack? Try hummus with some raw veggies.

Weird and crazy pregnancy dreams are extremely common. Therefore, don’t read too much into the dreams.

If this is your first pregnancy, week 18 is when you’re likely to experience your first kick.

Reading some good pregnancy books can help make the 40 weeks journey a bit easier to manage.

Go ahead and enjoy s*x during pregnancy. You might not have the energy for it once the baby has arrived.

Now is the perfect time to start decorating the nursery.

A severe headache can be a sign of preeclampsia. Therefore, don’t be shy about telling your doctor about it.

Feeling constipated? Have some coconut oil.

Go on a babymoon to enjoy a final romantic vacation where you won’t having to worry about finding a babysitter.

Get your iron level checked if you’re experiencing dizziness. You could be anemic.

Stretch in order to ease your leg cramps.

Get a pregnancy support pillow to sleep better at night.

Unable to sleep in the evening? Take a nap during daylight hours.

Work on naming your baby. However, don’t feel obligated to tell others about the chosen name until after the baby’s born.

Pay attention to your baby’s pattern of movement during pregnancy.

Worried about not feeling your baby kick for a while? Try gulping down a glass of orange juice to wake the baby up.

Learn the difference between true and false labor.

As your baby gets bigger, you’ll have less room for food in your belly. To make digestion easier, try eating frequent small meals instead of three big meals a day.

Think about whether or not you wish to hire a doula.

Make arrangements for banking or donating the cord blood.

Write a birth plan. Then discuss it with your doctor at the next prenatal visit.

Buy a car seat, install it, and check to make sure it’s installed correctly.

Pack your hospital bag and have it with you at all times during the final weeks of your pregnancy.

If you plan on breastfeeding your baby, spend time learning the basics of breastfeeding for a successful nursing experience.

Do what you need to do to get through the final days of pregnancy.
