Ladies - let’s start to understand vaginal infections 💁‍♀️

Persistent symptoms like itching, burning when passing urine, changes in discharge and pain during in*******se shouldn’t be ignored.

Underlying conditions such as diabetes, reduced immunity, or certain medical treatments can increase your risk. That’s why recurrent infections need more than a quick fix.

The first step is understanding the cause. With the right diagnosis, we can tailor treatment and help prevent future infections, supporting your comfort, confidence and long-term health.

If something doesn’t feel right, speak to your OBGYN. Early assessment makes all the difference! 🌸

The first thing we can check - your ovarian reserve. This can be done with a simple blood test to help us understand your egg storage.

The next thing to check is your uterus with imaging tests to check if there is anything that might prevent pregnancy.

We’ve all heard of diabetes - but can you distinguish the 3 different types?

Type 1 - an autoimmune condition where the pancreas produces little to no insulin. 💉

Type 2 - usually develops later in life, and occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin. 🍽️

Gestational diabetes - a temporary form of diabetes that can develop during pregnancy. 🤰

It is important to recognise the silent signs of diabetes, early detection allows for timely treatment and management. Some signs may be - fatigue, increased thirst, frequent urination, and slow to heal cuts or wounds.

If you experience any of these above, it is important to get yourself screened.

We are proud to announce that King’s College Hospital Dubai has successfully performed the first mini-SCOUT wire-free breast lesion localisation surgery outside the United States. The procedure was carried out by Dr Lucy Rany Khan, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, marking an important step forward in our commitment to bringing the most advanced surgical innovations to our patients. 👩‍⚕️🩺

The mini-SCOUT system is the latest advancement in wireless localisation technology, enabling breast lesions to be identified with exceptional precision. By replacing traditional wire localisation, it supports breast-conserving surgery with more accurate incision planning, improved cosmetic outcomes and a significantly more comfortable experience for patients, with many able to return home the same day.

This achievement has been made possible by Dr Lucy’s extensive experience in complex breast surgery in the UK, enabling us to bring this highly specialised level of care to Dubai and reducing the need for patients to travel abroad. ✈️

As the first healthcare facility outside the US to utilise the mini-SCOUT system in clinical practice, we continue to strengthen our position as a center for advanced breast surgery, delivering innovative, patient-centered care that reflects the highest international standards. 💙
