On International Yoga Day, we completed our 21-day Yoga Series.
The 21st and final day of our journey was spent on reflection. Participants shared their feedback on their experiences—most spoke about the mental and emotional clarity gained, enhanced physical awareness, planning of sessions, and style of teaching.
A common takeaway was a noticeable boost in energy after class that lasted throughout the day.
Each session offered an integrated practice that included warm-ups, Sun Salutations, yoga asanas, pranayama, and deep relaxation. Of all the elements, stretches and pranayamas were group favorites. Performing them on a daily basis over 21 days, everyone felt confident enough to practice them on their own.
Moon Salutations provided a rejuvenating spin on sessions for hamstrings and hips.
Though a virtual class, yogis were amazed at how present and in-tune they felt, as if it were an in-person class. They appreciated the personal attention, reminders of alignment, and modifications even through the screen.
An increased consciousness provided yogis with a sense of having more time in their day. 30-minute tasks took only 10 minutes.
The structure and routine were appreciated. Of course, life happened—travel, sick kids, work meetings, laziness, celebrations—but everyone made an effort to show up on the mat, motivated by the way they felt after each class and the connection with other yogis.
