Sometimes, what seems like a small problem hides something much bigger. A patient came to us with pain, thinking it was just a small cavity. After the consultation and a detailed scan, we discovered something completely different...

Under the crown, a large infection had developed over time. The ideal option was to remove the crown, treat the tooth, and do a root canal. But... we found that the tooth had already been treated in the past, with a post and buildup that made it impossible to reach the root. After careful analysis, it became clear that the infection had completely destroyed the surrounding bone. The only solution was to remove the tooth.

This is a perfect example of why regular check-ups are so important! Problems that seem small at first can develop silently and cause serious damage if left untreated. Once the area heals, the next step will be to place a dental implant and fully restore the smile. 😁
