Oral health is closely linked to overall health and well-being as oral diseases, particularly gum disease and untreated infections, are associated with a range of noncommunicable diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, dementia, respiratory diseases, pregnancy complications, and other systemic health challenges.
Yet access to essential oral healthcare remains uneven globally. For dental professionals, this often means seeing patients later and with more complex needs.
In view of World Oral Health Day, the recent UN declaration highlights the urgent need to expand access to oral healthcare as part of universal health coverage. At Dentsply Sirona, we support this progress and advocate for stronger recognition of oral health as part of global health agendas.
🤝 We support the Harvard School of Dental Medicine's Initiative to Integrate Oral Health & Medicine to advance research and dialogue on the connection between oral health and overall health by evaluating new models of education, training, and clinical practices.
Let’s champion oral health together, because a happy mouth is a happy life! 🦷
