Today marks the end of a one-month internship course for another group of foreign medical students. This month, I have been saying sorry sorry to them because I am too busy as a teacher. In addition to maintaining a non-stop clinical workload, the E-Da Hospital Nephrology Department also had its biannual super event, JCI CCPC (International Hospital Evaluation, Clinical Care Program Certification) at the end of last month (the slides were changed until the last minute), plus an oral report at the Nephrology Annual Meeting and a poster report at the end of the month (oral reports are really stressful, with very little preparation time), in addition to a three-hour biochemistry class in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science; in addition, the nephrology class is maintained once a week. Once I got busy, my resistance became weak and I suddenly got gastroenteritis, so I went to the emergency room and stayed there for the night.
But, they were taught something. I gave them some questions about hyponatremia, hypokalemia, and acid-base problems to practice, and finally taught them acid-base calculations on the last day. I interviewed and examined three patients, performed physical examinations, and watched two kidney slice operations (I heard that everyone was very satisfied). I hope everyone has gained a lot and can put their strengths into practice when they return to their own countries! !
