Yoga In the Park

Yoga In the Park Synchronise your breath with each movement outdoors, underneath the open sky with amazing energy of others practising with you.

Our inspiration for Yoga In The Park was realising that having a holistic practice outdoors which includes pranayama (breathing), asanas (postures) and meditation can help us achieve a balance from our indoor practice which is in a controlled environment. Since many postures resemble animals and natures elements, practicing outdoors will make you reconnect and appreciate the fact you are one of the many living beings on this earth. You will also benefit in your yoga practice by increasing;

meditation benefits β€” lower the levels of the stress hormone cortisol. core strength and stability - practising on a slightly uneven surface. balance - working secondary muscle groups in your hips, legs and ankles. confidence - breathing in more oxygen will make you feel empowered
awareness - having the space will give you instant freedom to expand and shift your perspective. By embracing nature and its elements as part of your practice you will become more accepting of things not in your control thereby increasing your focus and obtain greater strength and stability.

Chromatic yoga is a systematic approach to learning yoga in a simple step by step process. This is achieved through an educational based foundation that combines intention with consistent practise.

Alignment in yoga depends upon your intention! Feet apart/hands apart allows for greater freedom of expression through the connective core in backbending. Feet/ hands together looking at the thumbs requires greater core engagement as the tailbone is fu**ed and back slightly rounded. When practising handstand and arm balances I chose the dogmatic alignment as it prepares my body for what is coming! 🀩

I am grateful to have this life and blessed to have so much love and well wishes from family and friends. Life truly is a gift and I chose to celebrate by thanking everyone who has been a part of my amazing journey. So happy to be alive, healthy and present, here and now. Thank you! ❀️

β€˜atha yoga anushasanam’ - 1st Yoga Sutra - Now the practise of yoga begins.

A 10 year old yogini summiting Ain Al Sheria, Fujairah after a 4 hour trek. It was undoubtedly a challenge which she embraced with joy, amazing focus and heightened awareness to be PRESENT on the here and now whilst encouraging others around her to do the same. A gentle reminder of the powerful teachings of the yoga sutras applied beautifully.

King of all asanas πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ This pose is more about balance than strength and flexibility. Yes we need to have strong shoulders and core to enter and exit from this asana but once we are up it is all about balance! 😊
To find your balance, focus on a single point (dristhi) always listen to your breath, it calms your mind and surrender.
Your fears will stop you, confront them and let them go .... you are stronger than you think!
Hold for as long as you can and enjoy the numerous benefits of this pose. β€οΈπŸ™πŸ½

Eka pada koundinyasana requires combination of strength and flexibility. It is important to keep your legs engaged and active and to shift the weight far forward to lift the back leg up. Keep the integrity of the posture by having your shoulders in line with the elbows and not below, dristhi forward and don’t forget to breathe. πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ½

We are looking to introduce a new class on Saturday evenings in Southridge Park, Downtown Dubai, led by Nick Kumar πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ½

Breathing yoga followed by a guided led meditation class to relax your mind and body.

There are a number of benefits of pranayama (breathing yogic exercises) and meditation often overlooked in our practise as we tend to focus more upon the physical postures and less so on turning our gaze inwards.

Improve your awareness, focus and attention in your yoga practise and life by learning how to work with your breath and your mind.

Please message us for further details! Looking forward to receiving your feedback πŸ™πŸ½
