We all have an inner child. Meet the little one that lives within me. Super cute! She is full of light, she is joyful and playful, loves to laugh and go on adventures. She is funny, loving and carefree. I've spent alot of time nurturing this side of her/me...

Recently I've become aware of another aspect of her, the not so cute side. This same little girl doesn't want to grow up, she is immature, she doesn't want to assume any responsibilities and demands that someone else took care of any and all things...

She is selfish and gets really upset when she doesn't get what she wants. If she's not happy, well nobody is. She is stubborn and somehow thinks she has been abandoned and nobody loves her...
👶
Crazy right?! I'm 38, I don't want to be feeling like this 2 year old, much less act like one. And yet here she is, front and center, teaching me oh so much...

So now I get to integrate her, nurture her, love her, let her know its okay to grow up, its okay to own up to the woman that I am, welcome more responsibility in my life, accept that I have the capacity to take care of myself and most importantly be in service to others...
👶
Inner Child work is not only about tapping into play and child like wonder, its also learning how to self soothe, how to deal with frustrations and people saying No to you. Its about loving into very unconscious parts of ourselves, maturing and ultimately becoming our own parent...
👶
I will never loose the playfulness, freedom and joy of this child, but it is time to let go of the tantrums, the fear and the limiting beliefs this child has...

The time has come to grow up and grow big!

Fear is such an incredible force! This energy that has the power to paralyze us, to separate us, to give us a false sense of control. Its what keeps us playing small, keep us in those safe, comfortable places, we know so well. Fear keeps us in "our box."

Anytime we move towards the edge of this made believe box, venture out into the unknown, decide to do something we have never done before, take a risk and open ourselves up, the first to arrive to the party is always Fear, it has VIP access to our mind and heart...
🔥
It shows up prepared, with an extensive list of "evidence" on why you shouldn't grow, why it won't work and my personal favorite, how you will loose everything and how quickly you will fail...
🔥
And so fear ushers us back into the box, where it can keep us under control, safe, comfortable and right ...
🔥
When fear shows up, we convince ourselves that we can always do that thing we really want but are terrified of going after, later. We even go as far as saying next life time, and yet who says we get a later? Who says we get a next life time? Hence pushing back the breaking of the box...
🔥
Let's get one thing straight. Nothing except death is guaranteed in any lifetime and none of us know when that day will come, not even fear...
🔥
And so I am learning to say yes to Fear, to thank it for showing up. To embrace it and look at it like an arrow that points me towards freedom, towards love...

The more fear I feel, the more I know I'm about to break my box and expand into love. The more fear, the more I know there is freedom on the other side and the more willing I am to walk with it and through it...

As I continue to chip away at my box, full of fear, I hope this inspires you to do the same. I hope it gives you the courage to lean into fear until you realize its an illusion...

May fear lead you to love and to playing big in this lifetime. The world continues to be our playground and life will always be a game, so take your fear and your love and go play!
