Aoyao and Jingfang (Austria) have been working for over 5 years on this trauma liniment (die da jiu/ dit da jow) called 'Heavenly Horse: 10 000 Uses Elixir' based on a formula from Five Immortals Temple in the Wudang Mountains and its abbot Li Shifu. This is the story of two people meeting on White Horse Mountain and strongly feeling that this is a product that could benefit a lot of people.

Its efficacy cannot be overstated, but we just want to invite everyone to test it for themselves, we believe the product speaks for itself. We sourced the best raw herbs and alcohol we could , as well as optimised the process of the production (each batch is steeped for a minimum of 6 months) - let alone the legal hoops we had to jump through.

The internetpage and shop are currrently in the making and will go live as soon as it is up and running. Until then we have a small number of a little over 100 bottles (100ml) for sale within Europe. We are also currently investigating the making of a salve based on the same formula for sliding/moving cupping and massage purposes, so stay tuned. You can order via

email/phone: Phone: +43 512 32 85 30 Email: zubereitung@jingfang.at

PS: Every sold botttle will donate 1$ to Five Immortals Temple in honour of where we learnt this powerful medicine. In Chinese there is a saying to epitomize this: 饮水思源, “When drinking water, remember its source".

A long weekend gone by, 14 hours one way, 12 hours return, business meetings, conversations, pool dives, and a lot, a lot, a lot of Chinese herbs... one step closer to making this product available to the public, one less hoop to jump through, five people pursuing a vision:

A trauma (die da jiu) linement (and perhaps cream) from the Wudang mountains, refined over the last five years in regards to the process, the ingredients and the method, all to the backdrop of the mountains surrouding Innsbruck:

Food is Medicine: (Hu Zhang 虎杖) Polygonatum cuspidatum:

I recently found out that this is an edible palatable plant per se in an FB post and since it grows everywhere at the moment, was itching to try it myself, here is the process. It is most commonly compared with the taste of rhubarb and raw this is definitely the case. Important to know is that it becomes very fibrousy when too large (post said more than 2 feet) and the popping sound it makes when the stalk is broken is a good indicator that it is still young enough for consumption. Of course, this is also a medicinal plant as recorded in the Bencao Gangmu (see Unschuld Vol IV):

What could this cocoon be good for in Chinese medicine?

A word I used to translate as isotope 同位素, but there must be a better rendering, 'mimicry'perhaps. I still don't know the bug's Latin name, and Li Shifu never saw it alive. I ventured to a place one month ago in China I had felt drawn to on the north side where Miguel, Telmo and his wife I found several dozens of them more than ten years ago. This year, the place was snowed over, but I did manage to spot one on the way there, which this picture is from.

(This bug as commented is a moth called Caligula japonica/Dictyoploca japonica)
