When we forget our true selves, suffering and difficulties will overpower us. When we are established in the truth of what we really are, we realize that we have come to this world to play and we will have to go.
Shri GURUDEV said, “I am God in human being and human being in God”. We are full of peace, bliss, joy and happiness. That is our nature. Nobody can sn**ch it away from us. Any situation or circumstances that we face, we perceive it, but we are free. We can play but we must be detached. We can love, we can serve but we must remain compassionately detached in every breath. During every moment, we should have self-knowledge. Self-Enquiry leads to Self-realization, Self-unfoldment and the beauty of Self-knowledge. Who am I ? I will not forget the truth of who I really am.

Let the choicest blessings of God and the masters be upon all of you. I take this opportunity to pray for you, and I send my best wishes on the occasion of the sacred birthday of our beloved and worshipful Gurudev that occurs on 27 May.
Shri Gurudev was born on the full moon day in May, which is celebrated as Buddha’s birthday. This year, it is on 12th, but we globally celebrate it on May 27 every year.

Why do we celebrate the birthdays of great personalities?
It is not just to honor them by remembering their life and mission; the real purpose is to more intensely bring them into our lives.

Masters live through the practical lives of their disciples who put their teachings into practice.
Shri Gurudev said:

na devo vidyate kāṣṭhe na pāṣāṇe na mṛṇmaye
bhāve hi vidyate devaḥ tasmāt bhāvo hi kāraṇam
“The deity is not present in the wood, stone, or mud. He is present in our attitude, feeling, and devotion. Therefore, devotion, love, and our attitude (bhava) are the cause of everything.”

We love to have an image for better perception and understanding of the Divine, such as the image of Shri Krishna or Jesus. But this is not enough. We should develop right understating.

But how?
As is our attitude, so is our perception. As is our perception, so is our progress. As is our progress, so is our perfection.
Shri Gurudev said, “Your breath is my presence.” Do we ever feel like he is residing in each one of us? If we can truly feel this, then great change will surely manifest in our lives.

On this special day I pray to Shri Gurudev to bless each one of us and the entire creation. I also bow to all of you as the living presence of God and Shri Gurudev.

With love,

Silence Is Harmony
In the traditional teacher-student relationship, the student ordinarily does not ask about anything except spirituality or scriptural study. The atmosphere is one of silken serenity. Silence is the perfect harmony of body, sense organs, mind, intellect, ego, and memory. When all are in harmony, true silence can manifest. True silence is not just refraining from speaking. One can speak silently or can use one word that will have a profound impact on others. When our bodies, sense organs, and four inner instruments are in perfect harmony, with or without words, there is silence. Sadhana and conscious living will make our lives harmonious. It is in our hands. It is possible. Even if the body is sick or weak, it does not matter. If we have too much work, it does not matter.

Arjuna directed Lord Krishna to take the chariot to the middle of the battlefield. He wanted to see those with whom he had to fight. The Lord drove the chariot to the middle, between the armies. Arjuna looked at the warriors with remorse, sadness, and dejection. A strong pull of sorrow overpowered him. He had tears, quivering in the body, a stammering voice, and he addressed the Lord. As Arjuna describes his condition, the Lord is silent. In the first chapter and at the beginning of the second chapter, Arjuna keeps talking. But when he became tushnim or silent (Bhagavad Gita 2:9), the Lord spoke. Here is a very simple principle of life. As long as we are talking, whether verbally or mentally, we cannot hear others. Ordinary people talk more and listen less, while intelligent people listen more and speak less, and then only when it is useful.

Science and Spiritual Life
Science, or material well-being, is never an obstacle to a truly spiritual life. The human being is a complex combination of body, mind, and intelligence — with the constant association of the soul. Science has been a blessing, to some extent, for the body, mind, and intelligence, but without spirituality, neither the complete manifestation of the soul, nor the perfection of life is possible.
Science and spirituality complement each other.
Without science, spirituality is paralyzed and without spirituality, science is blind. Spirituality brings inner strength, regulation, and dynamism.
Kriya Yoga is a beautiful combination of science and spirituality.

Human life is like a fallow land. It requires effective cultivation to reap a good harvest of peace, love and serenity. A peaceful mind is the door to realization and freedom.
Thus there is need of confidence in life. Any work to be done should be done with love, prayer, and surrender. It should be offered to God and Masters. With such thinking, there is a sense of freedom from ego and pride. Indeed confidence in life is necessary; it brings inner spiritual strength and ultimately success.
