FELLOWSHIP WITH THE BLUE BOAT”
@ Academy of Fine Arts, Schillerplatz 3
1010 Vienna
It is with great pleasure to invite you to Kültürgemma Fellowship 2014/2015 and Interactive Photography project of Mr. A Lecture performance “Überlegungen und Überlegenheiten Diasporischer Kunst: Keynote und Künstlerinnenvorstellung von Noah Sow” and a discussion on “Museum Space, Art and Diaspora (The Relevance of
Political Art)” on Friday 16 October 2015. The Discussion offers a new focus intended to spark constant dialogue within Diasporas and of course the larger community concerning topics like political art, street art, hip-hop, graffiti, racist commercials, decolonizing white charity, identity politics, activism, humanitarian support & cultural relativism and the challenges of accessing the museum space. As a contribution to encourage and reinforce a positive shift in our societal perceptions of values that is inclusive and nonselective and promote love within all community in Diaspora. I renamed the project as seen on the posters and flyers “FELLOWSHIP WITH THE BLUE BOAT” as a way of solidarity and to connect with the agony of people drowning in the Mediterranean Sea in attempt to flee from war, hunger and uncertainty at the peripheries of Europe to seek safety and refugee within the borders of the safer Eurozone. The project is in partnership with Secession, Brunnenpassage & PCAP of the Academy of Fine Arts. The event will commence with the lecture-performance by Noah Sow at 6 pm and will be followed by a podium discussion at 7 pm with Hamado Dipama, Cana Bilir-Meier, Verena Melgarejo Weinandt, Hansel Sato, Gin Müller and Clifford Erinmwionghae. Additional information about the event, together with details about the entire project will be pasted at the academy’s info board and on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fellowshipwiththeblueboat?skip_nax_wizard=true
