Thankyou to Wounds Australia for hosting a wonderful conference and for making those of us who saw AWMA formed feel acknowledged and included. The program was first class, key note speakers brilliant and the innovations like the “silent” theatrette brilliant! On a personal note I would also like to thank the management staff at Barossa Hills Fleurieu LHN for the support shown for people with wounds: facilitating the attendance of our new Wound Management Clinical Nurses (inpatient) meant that we were able to make sure our clients will continue to receive the best possible care in the years to come and that our little team is more bonded and cohesive.

I would also like to thank Hartmann, Smith and Nephew, Sentry Medical, Lohmann and Rauscher and Ego Pharmaceuticals for the support and opportunities afforded me to attend and present. Working as an industry/clinician partnership ensures that the people suffering with hard to heal wounds will receive evidence based care using the best available technology and dressings not only now but into the future as well!

Bring on Adelaide 2026!!!!!

Thankyou to Smith and Nephew and Lohmann and Rauscher for supporting the Big Oozy (afternoon!) Bake off at Mount Barker!! Our Community nursing/allied health and Acute Nursing teams got together to hear about the issues confronting people who have hard to heal wounds and how compassionate coordinated care can make all the difference to their lives and health outcomes. Special thanks to Sarah Chapman (Smith and Nephew) for her willingness to take the time to speak with our staff 😊

What a fun workshop! 20 Ceduna nurses and Ambulance officers gave up their precious Sunday 28/7/24 and travelled from all over the Eyre Penninsula to attend the SAPMEA/ Country SA PHN supported wound management workshop. Biofilms, infection management, wound assessment and dressing technology were all on the agenda and many a discussion about best practice approaches to care was had. It was a fantastic opportunity to present in lovely Ceduna and I really appreciated the support to enable this workshop to go ahead! On to the next one, September 2, 2024 in Whyalla.
