New GP-Led ADHD Clinic coming soon
We are pleased to introduce our new GP-Led ADHD Assessment and Management Clinic in Aberfoyle Park Family Practice.
This specialised service will be led by Dr Sudhir Anand, our GP who has extensive previous experience in psychiatry and mental health, bringing enhanced expertise in diagnostic assessment, medication management, and complex mental health presentations.
This new service is designed to improve access to timely, evidence-based care for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing symptoms of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Service Rollout Plan
📍 Stage 1 – Adults & Older Adolescents (17+)
Launching first
We will initially offer ADHD assessment and management for existing patients of the practice:
• Adults
• Older adolescents aged 17 years and above
• Patients previously diagnosed with ADHD who require ongoing care
This phase allows the clinic to establish assessment pathways and safe prescribing processes aligned with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders diagnostic criteria.
🔜 Stage 2 – Paediatric ADHD (From 8 Years)
Once the clinic is fully established, we plan to expand the service to include:
• Children aged 8 years and above
• Collaboration with parents, schools, and allied health
• Structured developmental assessments
This phased approach ensures high-quality, safe, and well-supported care for younger patients.
📍 Stage 3 – External Referrals & Shared Care
Future phase
The clinic will later expand to support:
• External patient referrals from other GP clinics
• Shared care arrangements with psychiatrists
• Medication monitoring and long-term ADHD management
This stage aims to support the broader community and improve access to ADHD care across Adelaide.
