Last night I sat in a theatre listening to the very brilliant

These words I’ve quoted stuck with me.

‘The disconnection of ourselves is our deepest trauma’

My thoughts immediately related this to the disconnection many women, mamas and birthing families feel within themselves.

And how the system perpetuates this encouragement of disconnection with all of their fear mongering, policy making, risk aversive language spoken to mamas from the moment they engage with various care providers.

Not to mention that 1 in 3 walk away from their births with life altering trauma. Yes, life altering. Because it changes our brains. Therefore changes how mamas and families function in society.

What if we cared for the ‘whole mama & her family’ 💫

We know when mamas are held in reverence and as the experts of their bodies, space and baby, their connection to their bodies and babies lead them towards what’s best for their highest good.

This looks different for everyone.

I’ve debriefed with many families about all variations of birth and there are many truths in disconnection & trauma amongst the many ways their babies entered this world.

I also sit in birth prep sessions with families and unpack their belief systems, chat about options, the decisions they’re sitting with and the unveiling of the ‘good girl’ stereotype they ALL think they need to adhere to.

News flash: Being pregnant/birthing is not the time to be a GOOD GIRL. 🔥

May all mamas traverse the journey through pregnancy, birth and mamahood with an opportunity to connect within. To sit present in their divine bodies and feel all their feelings. Be held and supported with love, respect and compassion for all the physical, emotional and spiritual work that growing/birthing/raising babies asks for us to do.

Hello 👋🏽 A little reintroduction of myself!

Many versions of me have come & gone since I last did an intro post. What a wonderful wild ride it is to be mothering, holding mamas, serving my community & doing the biz life ✨

I am committed to loving on mamas & their families as they traverse the pregnancy, birth & postpartum portals.

Witnessing the depths of vulnerability and transformation is something I will forever be deeply honoured to hold.

I once dreamt & journaled this life I’m living ~ my heart is so full whenever I pause to remember just how far I’ve travelled to land here. I’m equally as excited to see where these next paths lead me.
