🗣️💙 May is Apraxia Awareness Month 💙🗣️

Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a neurological speech disorder where the brain has difficulties sending the correct signals to the muscles used for speech. Kids with apraxia know what they want to say—they just have trouble getting the words out.

It’s not about intelligence—it’s about motor planning. Every word takes immense effort, and progress often requires frequent, intensive speech therapy. 💪

Apraxia can be frustrating and isolating, which is why awareness matters. The more we understand, the better we can support these children to find their voice. 💙
