LIFE UPDATE: Emmanuel proposed to his girlfriend Florence over the weekend at the stunning Mintaro Maze. Accompanied by a violinist, Florence walked through the maze receiving a rose 🌹 from closest friends and siblings until she reached Emmanuel at the centre of the maze. Emmanuel took to the knee and asked the important question. A resounding YES echoed the maze. It was magical!

MEET OUR RECEPTIONIST LEE.
 
For the past 10 years, Lee has worked as a medical receptionist across both general practice and allied health clinics. Not only is she friendly, Lee comes with a wealth of knowledge from previous roles such as a Medicare and care plan administrator.  Lee loves that she gets to work alongside a team of fantastic people including some excellent cooks who regularly leave tasty treats in the kitchen.
 
We are lucky to have Lee as part of the Podhealth team facilitating a high quality of patient care amongst a great local community. 

Lee is based at Tea Tree Gully Clinic.

Alex graduated from the University of South Australia with a bachelor degree in Podiatry in 2021. Alex is a member of the Australian Podiatry association and participates in ongoing professional development to continue her learning and skill development.

Alex is a health focused professional with a passion for keeping active and fit. Outside of work Alex enjoys dancing regularly which she has done from a young age that led her into dance teaching.

Alex loves working with patients to share her knowledge and empower them in achieving their health goals.

MEET OUR SENIOR PODIATRIST.

Emmanuel is an experienced podiatrist with a patient cantered approach to health care. Emmanuel graduated from University of South Australia in 2015 and has worked predominately in the private sector. Working in multidisciplinary health centres, Emmanuel has developed an appreciation of integrated wholistic approach to podiatry care.

Patients find Emmanuel knowledgeable, empathetic, attentive to details, solution focused, great sense of humour and good bedside manners.

As a member of the Australian Podiatry Association, Emmanuel participates with ongoing podiatry professional development.

Outside work Emmanuel enjoys hanging with friends and family over good music and a glass of red wine. Recently took a keen interest in cycling and still has some dance moves in him.

Did you know, podiatrists can, and do save lives! Podiatrists will often see patients who have no idea they have an underlying serious health issue, other than experiencing symptoms, sometimes unrelated.

Your feet and lower limbs are often a critical factor in developing or avoiding non-communicable health diseases elsewhere in your body. Even if it doesn't immediately seem connected to foot health, the link is real. Think obesity, arthritis, diabetes, heart disease and a range of other conditions.

Almost 2 in 5 Australians who saw a podiatrist also had other serious health issues identified by their podiatrist. *

The research showed Australians who had visited a podiatrist for foot pain were unexpectedly found to have other life-threatening health issues, including:
- 33% circulatory issues
- 11% heart problems
- 25% diabetes
- 23% gout
- 7% other health issues

*According to the 2022 Australian Foot Health Survey conducted by the Australian Podiatry Association.
