Want to look after your fascia?

“Move unusually” - Tom Myers

Think of your fascia like a sponge. It needs to be “wrung” out to stay hydrated and healthy.

You need to move in a variety of ways for this to happen. When we move in a variety of ways, our fascia stays hydrated flexible and it stops it from getting stuck.

😮‍💨 BREATHWORK: long extended breath work and deep breaths to all areas of your ribs helps keep your facial system open

🧘🏻 YOGA: if you haven’t tried yoga, why not give it a go? If this is already your jam why not try loading your system with weights?

🏋🏼‍♀️ WEIGHTLIFTING: if you’re already in the gym lifting weights can you slow your movements down? Can you move beyond the squat dead lift or bench press position?

🤲🏻 BODYWORK: if you’re not a big mover body work can help your body move. Myofascial bodywork helps move and hydrate the fascia 🕸️

Is your body in a constant state of tension?

Bodywork is the quickest way to get your body in a calm state to dissolve this tension 😅

Most people are stuck in a fight/flight response in their body and they hold a brace or protective position:

👉🏻 hunched shoulders
👉🏻 shoulders up towards ears
👉🏻 tight jaw
👉🏻 shallow breathing
👉🏻 tight neck

Bodywork, particularly the bodywork our practitioners specialise in (Myofascial Bodywork, which is different to regular massage) can get you out of this protective position to dissolve the tension in your body 👏🏻

The connection between client and practitioner helps calm the body - particularly if the practitioner is trained and specialises in this, like ours do 🙌🏻

If you want to get out of this fight/flight state - bodywork can be the quickest way to get there 🔥

Book in with Deni or Jack. They specialise in taking care of not only your body but your nervous system so you can feel a whole lot better and begin healing on the inside ❤️‍🩹 booking link in bio

Struggle with boundaries? This one’s for you…

When we think about boundaries we can often think of the word “no”! But if you don’t have awesome boundaries and access to a “no”, you’re also limiting yourself to a full “yes”!

So what does a full yes in your body feel like?

People often find it difficult to identify how they feel in their body and they often find it hard to make decisions. If you often don’t know how you feel, sometimes you won’t know what a “yes” feels like in your body until you say “no” ✋🏻

A yes can feel like:

☀️ lightness
☀️ tingling
☀️ excitement

Sometimes our whole body can light up and our friends might say “you light up when you say that!” ☀️

sometimes a yes can feel like a sense of calm or age, you may feel at peace with the decision you make 😌

If you struggle with boundaries and you struggle with saying no, don’t forget to look for those moments where you want to say yes too!

What’s the real cause of your ongoing knee pain?

If you’re trying all the things and your knee pain isn’t getting any better, here’s some important questions for you:

👉🏻 Do you feel supported? Knees represent our stability, support and adaptability. They help support us and move us forward. If we have knee pain we may have a fear of moving forward, a resistance to bending or adapting, feeling unsupported in life or uncertain about our future.

👉🏻 What’s weighing you down? Our knees support our bodies weight especially in standing and movement. When our knees begin to hurt, this is an indication. We may feel unsupported or heavy and weighed down by things in our life.

👉🏻 Emotional states to ponder if you have knee pain: fear of moving forward, too proud to change, an insecurity of feeling unsupported, fear of failure.

The next time you get knee pain, ask yourself what is this pain getting me to do?

Is it making me slow down? Do I feel weak or unsupported? Do I feel any emotions when the pain grabs me?

Knee pain isn’t always because of those heavy squats you did that run or the fact you “twisted it funny” 😅

Pain doesn’t always mean that you need to stop or that it is a bad thing. Pain is guiding you to where you need to be, the more willing you are to within yourself. The better you feel in your body long-term. 🥳
