As we hit the mid-year mark, now is a great time to check that your child’s immunisations are up to date — especially if they’re enrolled in school, preschool, kindy, or childcare. Keeping vaccinations current protects their health and ensures continued eligibility for childcare subsidies and Family Tax Benefit payments.

The National Immunisation Program (NIP) provides free vaccines at key milestones, including:
• 6 weeks
• 4 months
• 6 months
• 12 months
• 18 months
• 4 years

After age 4, most vaccines are administered via school-based programs, with catch-up options available from your GP.

Protect your child — and your community — from preventable diseases like measles, mumps, and polio.

Call the clinic to book your immunisation appointment with a nurse and GP.

It’s National Diabetes Week and did you know diabetes is Australia’s fastest growing chronic condition?

• One Aussie develops diabetes every 5 minutes.
• Over 1.9 million Australians are living with the condition — many without even knowing.
• It’s a leading cause of heart disease, kidney failure, blindness, amputations… and death.

But here’s the good news: type 2 diabetes is largely preventable.

Your GP can help you manage risk factors like weight, diet, inactivity, and blood pressure — before it’s too late.

While some risk factors like age or family history can’t be changed, many others can — including weight, diet, and physical activity.
💡 Losing even 5–10% of your body weight can significantly reduce your risk.
🥗 Eating balanced meals and staying active for just 30 minutes a day can make a big difference.

📅 Book your diabetes risk check with your GP today and create a plan that works for you.

🧠 Did you know? Bowel cancer is the deadliest cancer and the 7th leading cause of death for Australians aged 25–44 😢 Many still believe it’s an “old person’s disease,” but the truth is: early-onset bowel cancer is on the rise.

In fact, 1 in 9 Australians diagnosed with bowel cancer are under 50.
That's why Bowel Cancer Australia launched the campaign — to raise awareness, advocate for early detection, and support young people navigating this disease.

🔎 Early detection saves lives. Yet, too many young people are dismissed or told they’re “too young to have bowel cancer.” If something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut—literally—and speak to your GP.

🙋‍♀️ You know your body best. Don’t ignore the signs. Don’t delay the conversation.

Take action today – Book an appointment with your GP to discuss bowel cancer screening and learn more about the symptoms, risks, and how early screening can save lives.
