🌟 Celebrating a Life of Purpose and Passion 🌟

This week we had the honour of hosting a special exhibition for one of our clients, Doug — a celebration of his life, achievements, talents, and hobbies. 💙

Doug shared openly about the challenges he has faced and, more importantly, how he overcame them. His message was inspiring: seek support, stay active, and fill your life with the things that bring you joy and purpose.

We were also privileged to have Joe, a Support Coordinator from , join us to raise awareness about the support available for seniors, helping them stay independent and in their homes for longer.

It was a beautiful day of storytelling, connection, and community ❤️

Last Friday we visited Melaleuca Court in Minlaton for a special Reconciliation Week art session. Together, we painted Ayers Rock and explored the themes of culture, connection and belonging.

We also created a collaborative poster with residents’ handprints—celebrating unity, identity, and the power of shared expression ❤️🖐️

🎨 Celebrating Life Through Art | Christine’s Story 🌿

Last week, we had the joy of celebrating Christine — one of our aged care clients — with a complimentary art exhibition to honour her creativity, courage, and journey.

Christine never imagined that her artwork would be appreciated, let alone put on public display. She described the experience as:
“One of the best days in my life.”
Moments like this are the fuel that keeps the team at TTWC going.

Christine’s life is a story of resilience and comeback — no matter the challenge, she continues to rise, create, and inspire. 💪✨ This exhibition gave her a renewed sense of hope and optimism — something to look forward to, and a powerful reminder that her voice and story matter.

From bold colours to deep reflections, every piece shared something unique. It was a beautiful reminder that expression has no age limit, and everyone deserves to be seen and celebrated. 💛

Since the event, Christine has even received offers to purchase her artwork. Instead of keeping the spotlight, she’s now working with us to prepare an art auction, with proceeds going to charities of her choice.

Christine is a living example that it’s never too late to grow, give back, and make a difference in the world — if you truly want to.

Last week, I had the privilege of running a workshop with a wonderful group of seniors — a space where their voices were not just heard, but truly valued.

We began with a thankfulness activity to set the tone with gratitude. From there, we explored their goals and aspirations — proving that dreams don’t have an expiry date. We then moved into deeper conversations around the challenges they face, allowing each participant the chance to express themselves openly and without judgement.

🌊🎨 Group Art Class by the Beach – Creativity & Connection! 🎨🌊

We had an amazing time hosting a group art class with our seniors from Pearl Home Care Sydney Inner West! Sitting at a table right next to the beach, enjoying the calming ocean breeze at Kiss the Barista Café, Ramsgate Beach, we immersed ourselves in a relaxing and creative session.

With every brushstroke, our participants explored self-expression, faith, and community, creating stunning artworks that reflected their individuality. This class wasn’t just about painting—it was about connection, well-being, and finding joy in creativity!

A big thank you to Pearl Home Care Sydney Inner West for making this beautiful experience possible. Seeing the smiles and creativity flowing in such a peaceful setting was truly heartwarming!

What a fantastic day we had with the lovely seniors from St Mary’s Coptic Church at our group art therapy session in the park! 🌞🎨

It was a beautiful experience filled with creativity, laughter, and connection. Everyone enjoyed expressing themselves through art, socialising, and simply enjoying each other's company in the fresh air.

Some participants even discovered hidden talents they never knew they had, proving that creativity knows no age! 🌿✨

At Through the Woods Counselling, we love bringing people together through creative expression, helping seniors explore new skills, boost their confidence, and create meaningful memories.
