Thank you for the passion, care, and dedication you bring to every session, and for the meaningful impact you make in the lives of children and their families. Your expertise helps little voices grow stronger and gives families the confidence and tools to thrive.

Book Week 2025 is just around the corner – running from 16th to 23rd August – and this year’s theme is “Book an Adventure”!

We’re inviting all our families to join in the fun and creativity.
What adventure will your child be dressing up for?
Are they stepping into the shoes of their favourite book character – maybe a magical creature, a daring explorer, or a time-travelling hero?

We’d love to hear what you’re planning! Feel free to share your dress-up ideas in the comments or tag us in your photos during the week.

Our in-clinic team will also be getting involved with a special staff dress-up day on Thursday 21st August – so make sure to pop in and see who we’ve turned into for the day!

Let’s celebrate the joy of reading and imagination together.

August Focus: Motor Skills Mania

This month on the Community Time app, we’re focusing on Motor Skills Mania — highlighting how our therapy team helps children develop the motor skills they need to thrive in everyday life.

From getting dressed and using cutlery, to climbing, writing, or speaking clearly — strong motor skills are essential for independence and confidence.

At Family Time, our Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Speech Therapists work together to support children in:

Building balance, strength, and coordination

Developing fine motor control

Improving body awareness and motor planning

Enhancing oral motor skills for feeding and speech

Throughout August, we’ll be sharing expert advice, practical resources, and fun ideas to help families support motor skill development at home and in the community.

Check in on the Community Time app to learn more and get involved.

Throughout July, our team will be sharing practical strategies from across our disciplines:
• Speech Therapy – how screens impact language and communication
• Psychosocial Therapy – supporting emotional regulation and social skills in a digital world

As Term 2 wraps up, you might be noticing some changes in your child—more tiredness, emotional moments, or extra outbursts.

This is really common, especially for neurodivergent kids. After a full term of managing school, therapy, social settings, and sensory input, their nervous system can shift into survival mode.

It doesn’t mean they’re not coping—it means they’ve been working incredibly hard in ways we can’t always see.

Now’s the time to slow things down where possible, lean into familiar routines, and create space for rest and regulation.

Every step they’ve taken this term—big or small—is something to be proud of. And so are you. 💛

If your child is having a tough time regulating emotions and you'd like some extra support, our experienced OT team is here and ready to help.
