This week I was invited to interview for a part time role. Like many micro businesses still in that start up phase, I need to supplement my income and I'm fortunate to have an array of skills and experience to fall back on. π
During the interview I was asked a question that floored me .......
"what do you do in your spare time?"
π€·ββοΈ ummmmmm ......... I work. In my business, in my husband's business, fulfilling the responsibilities of being a Mum and taking on the mental load of keeping the household running, people fed and bills paid.
Very rarely do I have spare time. No wonder I'm tired these days! π΄
And don't get me started on the Mum guilt of not spending enough time with my daughter, or being the "fun mum" who has the energy to take her to the playground and play with her.
π₯΄ Some days I nail it, some days not so much.
In all honesty, because I'm so passionate about fitness, wellbeing and serving others to stop fighting with their bodies it doesn't always feel like work, but it still is. Whilst there are a lot of things I do to look after my wellbeing I never fully switch off from being a business owner. There's always something to do, something I've forgotten to do or a new skill I need to learn to push through the uncomfortable things that all business owners need to do.
