I am in my “let’s actually observe what is going on” era.

How do certain meals affect my energy?
Do I crash later?
Do I stay full?
Do I feel clear headed or foggy?

Soon I will be using a CGM to look at my blood sugar patterns as well. Not because I think I am broken, but because data can help us make kinder choices for our changing bodies.

Midlife can feel like a sudden shift - energy dwindles, weight changes, sleep gets weird.

It’s easy to feel let down, but often, your body’s doing the opposite. It’s asking for rest, nourishment, and support.

This season’s about being kinder, not harder on yourself.

I keep wondering why I feel tired, foggy and a bit off…

Then realise I have not had a single proper drink of water and it is somehow mid afternoon.

Honestly the body does ask for very basic things and I still act surprised.

I’ve learned the science. Water helps with energy, focus, skin, mood and general survival.

So naturally I forget to drink any until my head hurts and I wonder what is wrong with me.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who treats water like an optional extra.
