I was just mean to my brother, and I apologised. And he said it was big of me.
It might be the painkillers talking, but that got me thinking…
We always say that it’s “big of someone” or they’re being the “bigger person”, so what does that say about society? That our *average* is so “small”? That this is what we expect from others, so when they act differently it seems “big”?
That’s a bit sad really. As in pathetic, but also sad And shameful. I mean wtf does it hurt to admit fault? A transient boo-hoo from the ego is not reason enough to define our humanity with such insular behaviour.
We can do better. We deserve better from ourselves and others.
Big should be the average.
Be big.
Love you guys ######
