The price of my new running shoes can provide food for 12 people, for 4 months. Really puts my first world problems into perspective.
I know many of us have friends and family who have been affected by this tragedy. So many dead and missing, a huge proportion of children presumed dead. They are in my thoughts.

Since 1990, aid has helped to reduce extreme poverty, including almost halving the number of children around the world who die before their fifth birthday. Help make poverty history by giving our fair share of aid – just 70 cents in every $100 of Australia’s national income by 2020.
