Wow! We’re at the end of another incredibly fast-paced school year!

The festive season ahead is a great opportunity to rest, restore energy and connect with family and friends and all of those things you enjoy.

It can also be a time that our young people can feel quite disconnected or lonely without the social connection to peers and adults that school life can offer.

If you notice your young person feeling any of those things there is always help available 👇🏼

Stay safe. Stay well. We’ll see you all back in full force in 2024 😊❤️

'DIS' is our kind of day!

It's World Gratitude Day and our TRP Team will be especially focussed on the things we're grateful for and appreciating them in realtime (aka our 'DIS' moments).

What 'DIS' moments will you have today?

Some much needed Team Time to round off an incredibly fast paced Term 3. It was amazing to have our Bunbury SSENBE team join us for a couple of days to reconnect, collaborate and laugh together on Menang Boodja here in Kinjarling (Albany)

On country learning, curriculum planning, reviewing on-site programs, restorative approaches, education in Volatile Substance Use with RSDE/Palmerston and an amazing wellness session of yoga and sound healing with Nicole Tamlin and our Koorts are full ❤️

The perfect 👌🏽 start to the holidays before we see out another school year!

Week 7 Term 3…. You might have low energy, or have been unlucky to catch one of the bugs that might going around. Rest, guilt free…. It’s a long game 😊

“I should be doing something productive right now but I’m just… so… sleepy 😴"

Proper rest reduces stress, helps concentration and stimulates creativity. Empower yourself to rest without feeling guilty. It’s one of the most productive things you can do.

We’re rounding out our Week 2 with a real buzz at the Centre today!!
On the back of a successful MTSS workshop in Bunbury yesterday for Stephen, today we have Sarah & Justin facilitating Day 1 of our new ‘Cycles of IBSP’ professional learning as well as Jamie piloting a very new Formative Assessment PL!
It’s always great having educators from across our Region here at the Centre engaging in such rich, collaborative conversations and learning! ❤️

Team Time this week included our annual review of our TCIS & PBS Team Implementation Checklist (TIC) and Action Plan…. Alongside this we always update our ‘How Safe Are We?’ Matrix to ensure that we are embedding our practices across all 6 TCIS domains…. We are a learning organisation and revisiting our processes ensures that we continue on that path 😊

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves - from our friends at Berry St and your Gt Southern Team. Truth telling also brings a responsibility to Truth listen…. It’s a day to sit with that notion ❤️

Today marks National Sorry Day – a day to pause and deeply reflect on our nation's history of removing Aboriginal children from their countries, cultures and communities.

As one of Australia’s largest independent family service organisations, we continue to reflect on the part we played in this history, and what we can do to support healing. This includes:

❤️ Being transparent about our history and promoting truth-telling
🖤 Advocating for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child removal gap to close, alongside Aboriginal agencies
💛 Supporting culturally appropriate and safe case management transfers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to ACCOs
💙 Prioritising Cultural Support Plans
💚 Continuing to educate ourselves regarding the impact of transgenerational trauma
🤍 Providing a culturally safe and welcoming service where pride in identity flourishes and self-determination is actioned.

We acknowledge that there’s a long road ahead of us as an organisation and nation to reconcile, however, we remain firmly committed to doing the work, so that future generations won’t have to.
