It has been a really tough start to the year with so many of us affected by the fires in different ways - our hearts are with you all.

We acknowledge that some of you may not have capacity to incorporate yoga classes into life yet, but for those who can and wish to get back onto the mat we are sending some important updates on class times.

The studio is opening up and classes are starting up next Monday on the 2 February - next week! We hope the studio creates a safe and calming space for you to recharge and reset. Jodie and Zoe are ready to guide you through classes meeting you where you are and supporting you through the practice with care and attention to your needs.

Classes are held in the ‘Sorting Room’, at Grounded Studio. The class timetable will offer 6 classes a week, a combination of Jodie’s Iyengar offerings, and Zoe’s Knoff Yoga offerings. A special Sunday session on a donation basis has been offered starting at 8.00am and can be attended on a casual basis. The other classes are a term package of 8 classes.

We understand some of you may have credits from last year’s term. For those who do, please book your class ‘reserve without paying’ - and you can discuss payment with either Jodie and Zoe.

Keen for some yoga over the holidays, book one of our classes:

Tues 13 Jan & 27 Jan, 5pm - Chair Yoga ✨🌟

A strong but supportive practice that is perfect if you have restricted movement, recovering from injuries or a beginner to yoga!

Tues 13 & 27 Jan - 6.45pm

Our foundation mat class tha brings flow, stilnesss, strength and stretching into a traditional yoga class incorporating breath work, poses and relaxation.

At end of March 2025, we popped our garlic seed in the ground, shortly after that poppies and broad beans were seeded, and the summer flowers and herbs at reached their annual cycle and dropped their seed into the beds. 🌸🌷🌻

9 months later, garlic is ready to harvest, 🧄 and the garden is starting to cover itself with a blanket of flowers that are accompanied with the gentle buzzing of bees and the ricket racket of happy insects and frogs.

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished”

One thing you may not know about my yoga classes is each week we work on something physical (glutes, hips, legs, core, spine etc) and we work on something mental, which we call the philosophy of the week.

This week it’s Patience. 🥰

A nice reminder at a time of year that is utter chaos, go slowly my dears 🩷🫶🩷

Day 2 ✅

We started the day moving our body and reconnecting with breath through rocking meditation to experience how to trigger the relaxation response in a quick and immediate way. We then dived into the coping kit:

We learnt how to:
🫶Breath for childbirth
🫶How to manage and access our energy and redirect it to facilitate the birthing process
🫶How to use guided meditations that change the way we experience childbirth
🫶 Why using positive affirmations can help us experience more depth and connection to our experience of birth even beyond birth itself
🫶Let our inhibitions go and practiced vocalising: roars, sighs, moans
🫶 A list of techniques to balance and open up the pelvis at three different levels to help baby move through the three stages of labour

Day 1 ✅ for birthing instincts 🩷

We journeyed through a reflective process of visioning how we want to feel before, during and after birth: we navigated through a 75 minute prenatal yoga practicing exploring the sensations of”muscles working” and using the power of the breath to define the experience of discomfort.🧘‍♀️

Diving deep into brain science, mindset, the physiology of birth, we looked into the science of yoga, and looked through the yogic lens of understanding the body as a tool to to go within, a powerful revelation for supporting the process of childbirth. Through the practice, we are invited to move beyond the physical body and tap into a deeper level of awarnesss to our mind and spirit. 💕🫶💕

With a guest visit from Lisa the Midwife, the group had great questions around the birth and what to expect through its stages.👩‍⚕️

We ended with a guided self hypnosis, that bought all into a deep state of relaxation with some even nodding off into a delightful sleep. 🧘‍♂️😌

Day 2 kicks off tomorrow. We dive into the coping skills and start putting all the “theory” into “practice” through birth rehearsal.

Feeling full of love from the beauty of this work.

In 5 days time I am opening up my studio doors and teaching a group of woman all about how they can use the art and science yoga and doula support to tap into their own natural potential to birth their babies with confidence and strength. 🥰😍

This class will teach you how to renew your mindset on birth and transform your fears into a powerful primal energy you never thought you knew you could find!!!!! 💪

Coincidentally, it has been 5 years since I launched my business , it birthed as Bella Mama, grew and changed shape to Dindi Yoga Doula and the direction it’s heading PHEW, time will tell but I have never been so clear in my purpose now.

CHILDBIRTH PREP CLASS: 29 & 30 November ❤️🫶❤️

🔜I’ll be running a birth preparation class across two days diving into what normal physiological childbirth is and how to prepare for it when you are planning for or in the midst of pregnancy. 👏

This work is close to my heart ❤️

I pour my soul into it, and today I spent hours drawing this piece which forms one of the many birthing affirmations that help transform your fear into a loving and powerfully strong energy.

Who am I? ⁉️

I am Zoe, some of you already know me quite well, others may have just landed here.

I am certified postpartum doula and registered prenatal yoga teacher with training in yoga, hypnobirthing childbirth education and Ayurvedic postpartum care.

I have also done further studies with renown exercise physiologist and birth doula Lindsay McCoy who founded the Body Ready Method and qualified to incorporate the Body Ready Method in my prenatal yoga practice.

I bring all this experience to offer yoga classes that not only help to prepare your pregnant body for birth but help train you with the relevant coping strategies and skills for childbirth and for postpartum.

My classes will teach you:

🫶effective birth positions to practice now while pregnant
🫶targeted exercises that help you understand how to open your pelvis at three different levels
🫶birthing skills and techniques that you can practice with your partner

Learn how to tap into your natural birthing instincts. 🤰🤰

A weekend deep dive with Zoe, at our brand new yoga space learning how the ancient science of yoga and the art of doula support can support normal physiological childbirth.🫶

⭐️Day 1: 10am – 3pm.⭐️

Redefining the sensation of labour pain:

In a hands on and interactive group setting we explore the science of pain, what normal physiological childbirth looks like and what instinctive birthing really is. Zoe will facilitate you through a well thought out prenatal yoga sequence to experience ‘going within’, understanding on a practical level how to cultivate a sense of deep relaxation in the body and mind while experiencing the discomfort or ‘muscles working’.

⭐️Day 2: 10am – 3pm.⭐️

Learning and rehearsing the instinctive birthing skills

Drawing on the practices of yoga we unpack a toolkit of techniques for relieving pain and progressing labour including mindfulness, breathing, sound and movement.

Zoe helps you understand how to apply these tools to three main layers of your being: mental (mind), physical (body) and etheric (spirit). A class folio and yoga equipment is supplied.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch, drink bottle, pen and notebook and an inflated birth ball sized for your height, a guide is provided below:

55 cm ball – if your height is under 162 cm
65 cm ball – if your height is 162 cm –177
75 cm ball – if your over 177 cm in height
