Moon and Back Personal Training We are a supportive community encourages you to prioritise your health and well-being. I, have been running Moon and Back Personal Training since 2016.

Prior to working in the Fitness profession I worked as a Registered Nurse for 13 years in Paediatrics, Emergency, Travel Medicine and General Practise. The drive for my career change happened after my mum died suddenly of a heart attack at 56years of age. This increased my passion for educating and motivating people to prioritise their heart. With my nursing experience in mind I plan my fitness sessions with a holistic approach, taking the whole person into consideration, not just looking at the exercise. I work primarily with women and I am continually educating myself to ensure my clients can work at their own capacity. So far my biggest achievement would be the community and connection between people that I have managed to create. By having this supportive community and incorporating fun & play within the sessions I am able to help people stay fit and strong for life, both physically and mentally.

Last year I was looking for some motivation so I attended Mish Wright’s Menopause Matrix.

The main thing I took from the workshop was that I needed to use the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years and take more action.

So I held myself accountable by telling Mish about a program I was hoping to roll out and told her I would be in touch with how it went.

The program finished a couple of weeks ago so I stayed true to my word and emailed my challenges and what worked well. She asked me for a few photos and said she would love to share my info at one of her workshops later in the year.

Anyway on the weekend I got a message with this photo from a friend in Melbourne who was at a workshop with Mish.

To think that considered my program worthy of sharing in one her workshops makes me feel pretty chuffed!!!

I am also very grateful to all of the educators I have learnt from over the years and the people that continue to inspire me 😍

I’m hoping to continue to run more of these programs throughout the year, so staytuned !!

Last week we finished my first 6 week program which I named “Commit 3 Yourself”

We covered many things over this time and the participants learnt so much along the way.

It was soo rewarding to hear these two comments during our final session on Saturday, especially the first one.

Understanding all the different factors that impact how well you move and then having the ability to listen to it and give your body what it deserves is absolutely priceless.

This skill will serve you well forever ❤️

Thankyou for the inspiration behind me putting this program together.

It suddenly dawned on me the other day that my mum would have been turning 70 this year which doesn’t really feel right.

Anyway, it gave me the idea to create a little something that will hopefully motivate us all to make sure we carve out just a small amount of time for ourselves each day to move.

You can choose whatever activity you want to do each day and over the month I will give you some ideas.

7 mins might not feel like much but research shows that it can have a huge benefit on your mood, energy, and overall health!

From personal experience I know it makes a difference !

Term One starts tomorrow with one of my favourite sessions online.

Pit Stops are essential in everyones program, just like they are for a car in a Grand Prix race.

They help regulate your nervous system,.
Improve movement of fluid in your body.
Have you moving easier by the end and ready to start the day!

Instead of thinking about what you need to cut out, what can you add to your daily diet??

I loved this advice I got years ago from a dietitian.

We often have a big plate of salad and veggies in middle of the table at dinner time.

It means everyone can serve themselves.

There’s plenty of colour = lots of goodness

We sit at the table longer = opportunity to chat and connect.

So many benefits to adding a rainbow to plate.
