We would like to welcome Dr. Gorata Mosweu to the team.

Dr Gorata brings with her a wealth of experience and a passion for comprehensive patient care. Originally from Botswana, she moved to Australia in 2010 to pursue her medical education, completing her undergraduate degree at Monash University in 2015.
Dr. Gorata has particular clinical interests in women's health, children's health, palliative care, and chronic disease management, allowing her to provide holistic care across diverse patient populations.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and has an appreciation for exceptional coffee and cuisine.

AMC offers free health assessments for eligible patients aged 40–49 who may be at risk of developing chronic conditions such as diabetes.

Our goal is to help prevent these conditions through early intervention strategies and ongoing support.

• If you're aged 40–49, ask reception for an AUSDRISK form.

• If your score is 12 or more, you are eligible for a free health assessment with our nurse and your doctor.

• If you're aged 45–49 and at risk of any chronic disease, you're automatically eligible for this assessment.

Please speak with your Dr at your next appointment to check your eligibility and take an important step towards safeguarding your long-term health.

We had our annual mid-year staff function on Friday night with a Christmas in July theme.
This gave us a chance to thank our team and celebrate some staff milestones.

Dr Jeremy Nunis - Doctor team - 5 years
Dr Teddy Petlo - Doctor team - 5 years
Lee Johnson - Allied Health team - 10 years
Julie Henderson - Cleaning team - 10 years

We also had the opportunity to farewell Dr Jodi Whillas who had her last day on Friday after over 20 years of service.

We welcome our new intern Dr Sophie Shearwood. Sophie will be a part of our team for the next 10 weeks whilst on her placement here at AMC.

Having spent 2 years training at the Toowoomba Rural Clinical School at the University of Queensland, Sophie is very excited to be back in a rural setting.

Sophie has many interest areas in medicine but particularly enjoys the procedural aspects of anaesthetics, emergency medicine and surgical care.

Outside of medicine, Sophie is a passionate musician who has played the saxophone for over 10 years, and directed the Queensland Medical Jazz band during her time in med school. She also loves to run (running her first half marathon in May!) and cycle, and is looking forward to exploring the Barossa cycling on the Barossa Trail.

It is Men's Health Week, a time for us to reflect on the health challenges that face the men and boys in our lives. This is not only physical health, but also their mental health and emotional well-being.
Check in with the men in your lives and ask them to prioritise their health and encourage them to see their doctor if they are struggling.

We are closed today as the nation remembers the courage and service of all those who served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. We also take time to recognise the contribution, courage and suffering of all those who have served.
We will resume normal Saturday trading hours tomorrow.
