Our last event of the year will be Thursday 30th November.
As World AIDS Day is the very next day we'll be focusing our event on education surrounding HIV presentations, screening and treatment.

For those who already feel competent in this area, we'd still welcome your attendance to be able to share your experiences and wisdom as well as being able to network with other like-minded clinicians (and enjoy a lovely meal at Matilda Bay courtesy of Viiv Healthcare).

A huge thank you to Erika for her wonderful contribution on Wednesday night talking about STIs.

This week is S*xual Health Week!

We're excited to announce that we'll be starting our 2023 SHIPS schedule from Wednesday 15th March and are looking forwarding to putting together a great schedule over the year to discuss a range of topics involved with sexual health.

Our networking and educational events are aimed at primary health practitioners including GPs (new and established) and practice nurses.

We want to help raise everyone's understanding and confidence in talking about and treating patients with their sexual health issues.

Sneak peak to our first event - we'll be working with WAAC again to bring you an event focusing on STIs. From testing, to treating and prevention.
We want to make our events as inclusive as possible and welcome practitioners who are experts in this area as well as those who don't know the first thing about it!

We want to share the knowledge, experiences and anecdotes as well as where to get more information for yourself or your patients.

Along with Professor Deborah Bateson, Dr Kathleen McNamee and Dr Sharon James who will be presenting remotely at our event on 30th June - we're excited to be joined in person by Dr Samantha Johnson who is a local GP who works in private practice and at SHQ.
Her specialist interests are women's health and sexual health and she is a medical termination of pregnancy prescriber so will have some valuable experience and insight to share at our quarterly event.
