Time to Breathe …

In early December, I looked at my schedule and decided something had to give. 2024 was an absolute blast - but I was exhausted, felt disconnected from family and friends and was feeling my age (even if I don’t look it).
The last time I felt this way, I spontaneously moved my family across the world having made an impulse purchase of a little aesthetic clinic on the Gold Coast. I thought it would be semi-retirement but we all know how that turned out!

This time I made a less dramatic decision albeit just as spontaneously! I decided to close that same clinic before the new year rolled in. By then it had traded for 28 years - almost 18 under my ownership.

It’s true that I could have sold the business, Ultimate Skin & Body Clinic has carried out a staggering 33,000 treatments, since we rebranded in 2019, but instead, I simply decided to take the path of least resistance and just close the door.

The clinic is not bankrupt, not in liquidation, and no clients or suppliers will lose money. I’m also confident that my team will all find new roles and have already reached out on their behalf to make recommendations for them.

This might be one of the easiest decisions I ever made. I’m simply bowing gracefully out, with dignity, knowing I gave it 18 years, helped build a whole industry and left a legacy.

But what about ISSADA?
Well ISSADA is flying high… 2024 was exciting and 2025 has already started with a bang. Our team is expanding, we are fitting out a new training facility and we are scaling up production; R&D; Training and Sales. It was of course all this that made letting go of the clinic an easy choice. This way, I get to refocus my energies, take stock of what’s important and pace myself.

A few have asked if I had the inside scoop on Qld Health’s recent letters to injecting nurses and their prescribers. The answer is no - we would have been unaffected by them anyway.

Meanwhile, although I am relocating some of the clinic equipment to our ISSADA training facility, I do have some devices for sale.

Additionally I also know of a cool 200m2, medical clinic available (with 8 large treatment rooms and a great landlady)

Mediterranean & darker skin types: Begin prepping 4 weeks before
Fairer skin (Celtic/white): Begin prepping 2 weeks before
