Is bedtime dragging out longer than your patience? 😩

You might be blaming the bedtime routine...
But the real issue could be your toddler’s nap.

Here are 3 things to check if bedtime feels like a battle lately:

🕒 Too much nap = not enough sleep pressure
🕑 Napping too late? It’s pushing bedtime later
🕔 The nap-to-bedtime gap might be too short

Fix the nap, fix the night. 💤
And no—you don’t have to drop naps entirely (yet).

💬 Comment “NAP” and I’ll help you figure out the right schedule for your little one.

Sleep Safe 6 - Rule #6 - Breastfeed your baby if possible.

Recent studies have shown that breastfeeding can lower the risk of SUDI by more than half. The reasons behind this protection are not fully understood. However, it is believed to be related to maternal behaviour, mechanisms of breastfeeding and components of breastmilk. Scientific research suggests that breast milk contains important substances that boost a baby’s immune system and brain development.

But remember, fed is best!

Sleep Safe 6 - Rule #4 - Safe sleeping environment, day and night.

The safest place for baby to sleep is in their own safe space, with a safe mattress, and safe bedding. Baby should always be placed on their back to sleep, with their feet at the bottom of the bassinet or cot.

✔️ Safe cot - Meets Australian standard AS/NZS 2172:2003.
✔️ Safe mattress - Firm, flat, right size for your safe cot, meets voluntary Australian standard (AS/NZS 8811.1:2013).
✔️ Safe bedding - Lightweight bedding, firmly tucked in and only pulled up to the chest.
✔️ Safe sleeping bag - Well fitted across the neck and chest, with baby’s arms out, and no hood.

Sleep Safe 6 - Rule #3 - Keep baby smoke free, before and after birth.

Smoking or va**ng during pregnancy and around baby once they are born increases the risk of sudden infant death – this includes second-hand smoke or v**e.

If you or your partner smoke or v**e, don’t do it around baby and never smoke or v**e where baby sleeps.

For free help to quit smoking call Quitline on 13 78 48.
