Amalgam fillings.
Amalgam fillings contain over 50% mercury, which is one of the five most toxic heavy metals to humans. (NIH)
My fillings were put in during the 1980's and have lasted for 45+ years and would likely have lasted to the end of my days.
However, every time I eat, swallow, drink or even clenching my teeth, a few molecules of that mercury enters my body and it can cross the blood brain barrier.
Damage occurs to cellular functions including reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial disruption.
So today, I started to have my amalgam fillings replaced with a safer alternative.
This was not an easy task either. I first discussed it with my regular dentist who dismissed the who thing as unnecessary.
After, listening to an holistic dentist on a podcast, I regained my enthusiasm and sought an holistic dentist in Melbourne. I had an initial consultation which involved discussion about what I would like to happen, safety concerns during the procedure and heavy metals detox program before and after.
Today was the first of three appointments which took over an hour.
They even played 432hz music while in the chair, something that I do for my clients!
