Yesterday we celebrated Allan Cracknell and his incredible milestones within the CFA.

Surrounded by family, friends, and his CFA family, Allan was presented with his framed Secretary epaulettes, his mounted Fire Investigation helmet, and in recognition of his outstanding dedication, the Bairnsdale Fire Brigade meeting room has officially been named the Allan Cracknell Meeting Room.

We sincerely thank Allan for his remarkable service to both our brigade and the wider CFA community. Over the years, Allan has served as Brigade Secretary under 6 different Bairnsdale Fire Brigade Captains, dedicated 26 years as a Fire Investigator attending and investigating 180 fires, and achieved an incredible 32 years of service as Secretary.

Allan, your commitment, knowledge, and dedication has left a lasting impact on our brigade and community. Congratulations, what an amazing milestone! 🚒

🚨Structure Fire – Bairnsdale Power Station

Today at 2:23pm, our volunteers were paged to a gas turbine fire at the Bairnsdale Power Station.

Crews arrived to a challenging and fast-moving incident, quickly getting to work to attack the fire, protect critical infrastructure, and prevent further spread. Thanks to a coordinated effort, the fire was successfully contained and brought under control.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all assisting brigades and agencies who responded alongside us. Incidents like this highlight the importance of teamwork, training, and rapid response.

Also a shout out to our friends at Lakes Entrance and Johnsonville Fire Brigades who stepped up to our station to cover the Bairnsdale and surrounding communities.

Training Night – Structural Fire Exercise 🔥

A big thank you to the Mount Taylor Fire Brigade for putting on a great and educational structural fire exercise last night.

Training like this is vital as it helps ensure we can respond and attack fires quicker, safer, and more effectively. It also gives some of our newer members the chance to get hands-on with equipment and build confidence while learning new techniques.

Opportunities like this make a huge difference on the fireground. 👩‍🚒🚒
