This week, we launch our Everyone Needs Hope Appeal in support of our local Balgowlah Crisis Support Centre.

Crisis is not always visible. Someone in our community may be struggling quietly — a neighbour, colleague, friend or loved one.

For someone in crisis, hope can begin with connection: a calm voice on the other end of the line, someone who listens without judgement, helps ease distress, and supports them towards a safer next step.

Your support helps ensure trained Lifeline Crisis Supporters are there when someone in our community reaches out.

Together, we can help ensure no one across the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore faces crisis alone.

A beautiful afternoon of connection, community and hope 💙

Last Friday’s luncheon at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron brought together an incredible group of people for a meaningful conversation about loneliness, wellbeing and the role we can all play in creating connection in our communities.

One message stood out so clearly: with 1 in 3 Australians experiencing loneliness, connection is not someone else’s responsibility — it belongs to all of us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, to our incredible panel Lucy Brogden AM, Dr Lyn Chiem, Sarah Grattan, Sarah Watts-Smith, Barbara Stenhouse and Iresha Lehane, and to our facilitator Charlotte Rimmer for guiding such an important discussion.

We’re excited to keep listening, learning and evolving our services in community in the months ahead.

Our connections with those closest to us can change depending on what is happening in our lives.

There are times when we have less energy to reach out, reply, or keep up with conversations. That can happen during busy, stressful, or changing periods, and it is a very human experience.

If connection feels a little harder right now, support is available. You don't have to manage everything on your own.

Lifeline is here whenever you are ready:
