On Sunday 8/6 one DA Ballarat paddler joined the Dragons Abreast Australia composite team in the 49th Vogalonga paddle in Venice. It was a total of 38kms in both the Grand Canal and much more open water. There were 3,000 paddlers in all sorts of man /woman powered craft. There was a traffic grid lock as we arrived back in the Grand Canal, so the frogmen helped to separate and push boats in the right direction. Not something that paddlers see every day!

Last week three DA Ballarat members were lucky enough to participate in a pink human heart in St Mark’s Square in Venice, to raise Breast Cancer awareness in Italy.
There breast cancer survivors from all over the world.
It was a ‘goosebump, iconic’ experience. The photographer was in the bell tower. The bells rang for midday, and there was even a flock of pigeons who flight on cue, during the event.
