🎉 It's so nice to be back!!!

After a fun school holiday I’m finally getting back into the rhythm of the term 🙌🏽

To give you the highlights reel:

✅ Our oldest kicked a footy through a neighbour’s window 🪟
✅ Our second lost an entire fingernail after dropping a massive rock on it (yep) 🪨
✅ and Mila started crawling and turned 10mo in the middle of it all 👏🏽

So… not exactly calm, but there was plenty of fun in between!

✨ One Tip for Creating Calm in a Busy Holiday ✨
Here is one simple thing we did that did help steady the days:

📝 Making a plan for the day - the kids and I sat together each morning and mapped the day out. It helped us find a balance of fun, rest and productivity.

It included:

• Something for everyone to look forward to
• Daily reading time and piano practice
• Daily responsibilities - chosen by the kids
• Self-entertainment time - and letting the boys know “I’m having a rest”

It's not the kind of holiday you post about, and it wasn’t picture-perfect, but it was real - full of joy, productivity, and rest where it mattered. 😊

Now bring on term two, who's with me! 💪🏽🥂

Okay I'm calling it ⏸️ Pressing pause for the school holidays…👇🏽

Today was a good reminder that the juggle is real 🤹🏽‍♀️

Between kicking the footy and shooting hoops with our eldest, getting crafty with our second, washing, cleaning and keeping our 9-month-old well fed (and happy!), my hands are pretty full.

So for now, content is taking a little back seat 🤪

I’ll still be processing and sending out your orders (so grateful for every one of you 🙏🏽), but socials will be a little quieter.

I’ll be back on the other side with more beautiful things to share.

For now, it’s all about soaking up these moments… and staying somewhat sane 😂

💛 Happy Easter!! 💛 Over time, for me Easter became more than chocolates and hot cross buns in my life. It actually became something very personal.

I became a Christian at 15 - when I first truly believed in God’s love - for me, and for this world. Since then, Good Friday and Easter Sunday have taken on a deeper meaning as I’ve come to understand the story of sacrifice, hope, and new life.

While Simple Retreat is a business, it’s also an extension of who I am - and shaped by the things that have grounded me, carried me, and given me perspective along the way.

Whatever Easter looks like for you, I hope it’s been filled with moments of rest, reflection, or simply time with people you love. 🫶🏽

I’m officially back at markets… and it’s been YEARS! 🫶✨

So excited to share that I’ve been accepted to exhibit at Ballarat’s winter favourite — The Design Exchange Market

Honestly, it feels a little like starting from scratch again… but in the best way. I can’t wait to get back to the drawing board and create a fresh, vibrant, beautiful display to showcase my candles & cards 🩷
