📝 Make NDIS plans easier to understand
👫 Give more help to children under 9
💵 Make sure support is fair for all participants
💰 The government will spend $1 billion on these changes.

✅ What is changing?
👩‍⚕️ People will get support needs assessments at no cost to them.
💼 A new team will help participants plan their supports.
👶 The government will design a new pathway for children under 9.
💡 The NDIS Agency will follow new ideas from the Independent Review.
💻 Better technology will stop fraud and improve safety.
🛠️ The changes will start over the next 2 years.

💵 How the $1 billion will be spent
📊 The government will spend the money on:
💲$503.5 million to keep helping people already in the NDIS
💲$280 million to improve planning for participants
💲$143.9 million to keep participants safe and protect quality
💲$110.4 million to stop fraud
💲$4.5 million to design better support for children

💬 Why these changes are important
👩‍⚕️ Many people pay too much for big reports.
💰 Now, the government will pay for these reports instead.
🕒 This will also save time for doctors and therapists.
💡 Children will get the right support early in life.
🛠️ The changes will help make the NDIS fairer for everyone.

Happy 5th Birthday Minka Blue!

Five years ago in my backyard we grappled with what to call our new NDIS care business with 2 clients.

All the while my little black pug Minka ran around my feet and the answer became really clear. Minka was the only dog we ever had in our family that wasn’t put off by my son’s wheelchair. Her daily routine started with sitting on his lap in the chair as he came out of his room for breakfast. A confident, unstoppable pug was our darling Minka – and my lovely son David is just the same. My son loves the colour blue so that afternoon, our business found its name: Minka Blue.

I am deeply grateful to my fabulous team for their unwavering dedication, their relentless pursuit of better ways to serve, and their commitment to bringing our values to life each day. Their hard work and compassion have been the foundation of our success. Minka Blue has grown beyond our initial dreams and we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference in our community.

Here’s to the next five years of making a positive impact and continuing to live by the values that Minka and David have inspired in us.
