About
OPENING HOURS
Mon-Fri 8.00am to 5.45pm
Saturday 9.00am to 12.00pm

Saturday is an emergency clinic where patients do not make a prior appointment. It is Practice Policy to not advise who the Duty Doctor is until the day. AFTER HOURS

If you require emergency after-hours medical treatment or advice, please contact Bathurst Afterhours Medical Service, supported by Marathon Health, on 6333 2888. APPOINTMENT POLICY
Busby Medical Practice provides a flexible appointment system which has the ability to accommodate patients with urgent, non-urgent, complex, planned and chronic and preventative health care. A scheduled visit is required for practice appointments with the exception of Saturday mornings. To book an appointment you can phone the Practice number on 02 6332 4266, and a receptionist will assist you with an appointment, or visit www.busbymed.com.au and book an appointment online. Every effort is made to accommodate your preferred GP and time, please call and speak to a Receptionist if you need to book an appointment for a complex problem, insurance or pre-employment medical. If there is another family member to be seen please advise the Receptionist so she can also book them adequate time. The Practice has a policy that we will fit in a child on the day if a parent is concerned that the issue is serious. Please make sure that you clearly communicate concerns about young children to our Reception staff. Our Practitioners endeavour to keep to their scheduled appointment times. We apologise for this and suggest that you phone ahead of your appointment time and ask the Receptionist to check if your appointment will be on time. CANCELLING APPOINTMENTS
Please notify us if you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment. The Doctors request that you notify the Practice, at least one hour prior to your scheduled time, if you are unable to keep your appointment. This provides them with the opportunity to see other patients.

Ask R U OK? Any Day because life happens every day.
Research found that those who are regularly asked, 'are you OK?' report increased feelings of wellbeing, and we've learned that a third of Australians say they've been asking others more often over the past year. That means many of us are already showing up for others in meaningful ways, but when it comes to conversations about how we’re really going, some people are less confident than others.

Ask R U OK? Any Day of the year because a conversation could change a life.

29/08 is Wear it Purple Day, which aims to empower LGBTQIA+ youth to dream big and share “Bold voices, Bright Futures” with Australia
By wearing purple, Australians demonstrate to rainbow young people that they are celebrated and respected, acknowledging that all have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming. 💜🏳️‍🌈

We know that almost 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, so it takes all of us to give hope for better treatments and better outcomes. The more hope we give, the more lives we can save. That's why we're encouraging you to give it your all by registering to fundraise or by donating this Daffodil Day.

Daffodil Day 2025 is Thursday, 21 August but you can get involved and help support this special day any time throughout the month.

We are over the moon to announce our new GP Registrar, Dr, Alexander Ho! 🤩
You may recognise this friendly face from our sister practice Brooke Moore Medical Practice, well Alex wasn't quite done with Bathurst life yet, so he was moved a block over to join us here at Busby to continue his training!

Dr. Ho was born and raised in Sydney. He completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Applied Finance and worked in those fields prior to studying medicine.
He undertook medical training with Western Sydney University, and spent a year in Bathurst as part of the program’s Rural Stream. He completed his residency in Westmead, Coffs Harbor, Auburn, and Westmead Children’s Hospitals, with terms in emergency medicine, geriatrics, infectious diseases, general surgery, and paediatric general surgery.
Alex has now returned to Bathurst as a registrar to start his training in General Practice. He enjoys the wide range of presentations seen in general practice and aims to provide holistic, patient-centered care.
Outside of medicine, Alex enjoys cooking, baking and rock climbing.

This week is Donate Life Week!
📣Did you know that in Australia, your family is always asked to agree to donation? They are much more likely to agree if they know you want to be a donor.

I’ve talked about donation with my family and friends, and it’s important you chat with yours too.
