Council Supports DV Safe Phone Program
Bathurst Regional Council has registered with DV Safe Phone as an Authorised Phone Drop Location, allowing old mobile phones to be repurposed and provide security for victims of domestic violence.
DV Safe Phone is an Australian charity that collects, refurbishes and gifts mobile phones to victims of domestic violence through registered authorities. The donation of an old phone provides a critical resource and vital means of support to victims of abuse, amplifying their voices and empowering them to seek help and contact emergency services.
Council is proud to be an Authorised Phone Drop Location for this charity, with two collection boxes now available for use on the ground floor of the Civic Centre and at Bathurst Library.
All decommissioned Council-owned mobile phones will be donated on an ongoing basis to DV Safe Phone, as a means for Council to further our support for this pressing cause.
Whether you can help by raising awareness or directly donating your old phone, every little bit makes a positive impact and has the power to support a life.
