Lately, that pause has become a reflex. It’s the space where we wait to see which version of the “NDIS story” the other person believes.
Lately, the headlines have been filled by those who brought negativity to the social services sector. Because of them, a sector built on compassion is now often met with skepticism.
When we mention the NDIS, we see the questions forming in people’s minds:
• “Are they actually skilled enough?”
• “Are they doing the right thing?”
• “Is this just a misuse of government funding?”
But I am proud! I started it to provide a sanctuary of ethical practice.
To me, being a provider means:
• Ethical Billing: Ensuring every cent of a participant’s plan is used to create genuine value.
• Advocacy: Standing in the corner of our clients when the system feels too big to navigate.
• Clinical Integrity: Leading with skill, evidence, and a deep respect for the people we support.
We shouldn’t let the actions of those who failed the sector define the identity of those who are upholding it. I’m not just an NDIS provider; I’m a partner in change, and I’m proud of the work we do every single day.
