🩺 Northeast Nurse Practitioner Services is happy to announce additional services:

1) Weight Loss Management

Uses evidence-based weight management following Australian clinical guidelines incorporating:

• Medication
• Nutrition and meal planning
• Mental Health Support
• Goal setting
• Exercise and activity

This is a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to your weight loss and weight management.

2) Men’s Health/Sexual Health

This includes topics such as mental health, weight management, and those other things that men do not like to talk about.

Pre-existing services offered:

• Management of acute illness such as be infections, pain, dizziness, headache and gout etc.
• Chronic conditions including pain, airways disease and heart failure etc
• Sick certificates, prescription, pathology, x-ray, and specialist referral etc
• General services such as travel medicine, ear cleaning and injection administration etc
• Aged related issues including memory problems, depression, falls and chronic pain etc.

All services and prescriptions are MBS and PBS subsidized just like with your GP.

Fee’s also attract a rebate just like with your GP.

However we do not bulk bill as we do not receive the bulk billing incentive that GPs receive. If this should change in the future, bulk billing will be applied.

Northeast Nurse Practitioner Services is continuing to operate on a daily basis Monday to Friday.
A big thanks to members of the community who have utilised our service and put their trust in our service to manage their medical needs.
A common theme that we are still hearing is that many people are still not aware of the depth of services that a Nurse Practitioner can offer. We encourage people to view the FAQs on our website - www.northeastnursepractitioner.au

Northeast Nurse Practitioner Services is excited to announce that our Nurse Practitioner, Steve, has started consulting two half days per week at Alba Health in Myrtleford.
Alba Health is a dynamic General Practice Medical Clinic located at 153-157 Myrtle Street, Myrtleford. It is a newly custom designed clinic and is AGPAL Accredited.
It’s principal GP, Dr Justin Donaldson, originally established the practice in May 2021. Since this time, it has become increasingly busy which has necessitated the recruitment of more GPs. To date, Justin has successfully recruited another 2 GP’s including Dr Alison Mahony and more recently Dr Cristina Dumitrescu.
The partnership between Northeast Nurse Practitioner Services and Alba Health provides many positive benefits. This includes:
• Alba Health is now opening it books to the community of Beechworth. So, if you are without a regular GP, or are travelling outside of Beechworth for your medical needs, or for any other reason, Alba Health is a great option.
• Northeast Nurse Practitioner Services and Alba Health can dynamically share your care if you wish. This means that you can be seen locally at Beechworth by our Nurse Practitioner, however if required you can also access a GP. This will allow Northeast Nurse Practitioner Services to offer a more comprehensive model of care.
• In the event that our Nurse Practitioner is not available, or your care needs are not within our Nurse Practitioners scope of practice, you have the option of Alba Health.

Supporting Older People with Complex Needs
We’d also like to take this opportunity to highlight an important aspect of the care we provide—support for older people experiencing age-related health issues. These may include:

Hello 👋

I would like to thank the community for your amazing support since having launched NNP. It’s been a pleasure to meet you all and help with a range of health concerns.

I am happy to finally show you our location at

As you can see in the photo, this is the White house right next to the IGA where I am working alongside other great local practitioners.

You can see me here by appointment only. No walk-ins are available at this stage. Home visits and Telehealth are also available. Call ☎️ 0455420715 to book your appointment.

We also have some exciting news about working and collaborating with a GP practice commencing in mid April. This will improve access to healthcare and help Northeast Nurse Practitioner Services overcome some of the barriers faced by Nurse Practitioners in delivering care. Details of this will be announced soon!

Patients receive a rebate from Medicare just like you would if you were seeing a GP.
The Out Of Pocket fee’s for a consult with our services is time based and is as follows:
1) 8-19 minute consult = $35
2) 20-39 minute consult = $40
3) 40-59 minute consult = $60
4) over 60 minute consult = $80

Just a reminder that a nurse practitioner can:
- Order pathology and radiology test
- Prescribe medication
- Refer to specialists
- Management medical conditions

I have had some feedback from the community about the fee’s for our service.
I am hoping our website will be live very soon which will outline the fee structure and much more.
Patients receive a rebate from Medicare just like you would if you were seen by a GP.

I’m getting some feedback from the community asking what they can access Northeast Nurse Practitioner Services (NENPS) for.
Below is some information that will give you some insight into what and what I don’t do.
Also please be remember that like GP’s, Nurse Practitioners have access to MBS & PBS.

Services offered:
NENPS core business is to offer a medical service to the residents of Beechworth, and the wider community, that is innovative and evidenced informed, person centered and caring, and flexible to meet the changing needs of the community.
We believe in the primary care model and therefore support a collaborative approach as part of our business model. This ensures optimal outcomes for our patients'.
NENP offers the following services related to patient care which can be categorized into acute, chronic, aged related, and general services. For detailed descriptions of these services please see below.

1) Acute Illness
This service covers/manages a range of conditions that patients may have developed that are NOT life threatening but require medical management within a brief time frame.
Such conditions may include but are not limited to:
• Sore throat
• Urinary Tract Infection
• Chest Infection
• Sinus Infection
• Viral Illness – Covid/Influenza/RSV etc.
• Sore Ears/infection
• Infected Wounds
• Dental Infection
• Conjunctivitis
• Asthma/COPD flares
• Constipation/Diarrhoea
• Indigestion
• Dizziness
• Gout
• Pain – Back/Shoulder/Hip/Knee etc.

Please remember that this service is not for urgent/emergency care. If you, or someone you are with, are suffering a time critical emergency or is unconscious, has chest pain, difficulty breathing/choking, uncontrolled bleeding or has been in a major accident, please dial 000 immediately

2) General Services
This service may include but not limited to:
• Clinical examinations
• Health Checks
• Scripts
• Medication Review and Management
• Diagnostic and Pathology Requests
• Specialist Referral
• Sick/Carer certificates
• Ear Cleaning
• Injection Administration – e.g., B12/Prolia
• Travel Health Advice
• Osteoporosis Management

3) Assistance with Flare/Exacerbation of Chronic Conditions.
This may include but not limited to:
• Blood Pressure
• Heart Failure
• Lung Disease
• Diabetes
• Parkinsons Disease
• Arthritis
• Pain Management

4) Older People/Age Related Problems
This may include:
• Memory Problems/Cognitive Decline
• Falls and Balance
• Osteoporosis
• Chronic Pain
• Depression/Anxiety
• Sleep Disturbance
• Nutrition/Weight loss
• Medication Management
• Frailty
• Continence Issues
Consultation via telehealth with a geriatrician is available depending on complexity. The Geriatrician fee is bulk billed.

5) Service Exclusion:
• People less than 18 y/o
• Women’s Health
• Skin lesion/mole assessment/excision.
• People requiring urgent/emergency care
• Medicals for Driver License/Centrelink assessments
• MBS subsidised referral to Psychologist’s via Mental Health Care Plans
• Medicare rebated referral to allied health
• Prescribing drugs of addiction without a clear history of need and previous use.
