Stronger legs could mean a sharper mind
Your legs might be the key to a sharper mind! A groundbreaking 10-year study from King’s College London has revealed that leg strength can predict brain health better than genetics. The study followed 324 female twins and found that those with stronger leg power at the start of the study experienced slower cognitive decline and better-preserved grey matter after a decade.

What’s fascinating is that the twin design of the study controlled for genetics and early environment, isolating leg strength as a unique predictor of brain health. This suggests that activities like squats, lunges, climbing stairs, and resistance training could be among the best investments you can make for your future brain health.

The connection likely stems from improved blood flow, growth factors, and the complex muscle-brain communication pathways that are activated when you work your legs. The stronger your legs, the more likely your brain will remain sharp as you age.

It’s a simple but powerful takeaway: if you want to keep your mind in top shape, it’s time to hit those leg workouts! The future of brain health might just lie in your lower body.

Friday yoga class will resume at the Peachester Hall this Friday the 27th of June at 10 am-11.30 am.
 The class is a relaxing, restoring, rehab and rejuvenate class. Suitable for everyone and everybody.
Multiple options are guided so you can
always just do what is right for you in the moment and that is perfect practice.🌈

Greetings to all my new students. I’m so delighted to have you in my class.
My class runs from 930 till 11 am on Fridays.
Don’t worry it is not an hour and a half of exercise. There is plenty of relaxation.
Classes are $15 cash.
Please bring with you if you have them-
A good Yoga Mat that won’t slip.
A Yoga bolster if you have one. If not I can advise you where to buy one. Necessary for the restorative poses and to make your practice more comfortable.
I have  a limited supply of blankets, but if you wish to bring your own please do so for under your knees back and neck. Also a sarong or something to cover you for relaxation.
An eye cover if you would like to use one.
 I have yoga straps but if you have one that you would like to bring please do so and exercise band is fine.
Water.
 Please don’t bring your mobile phone into class. If you do please make sure it is switched off. Once the class starts there is no talking in class.
Please don’t wear strong perfumes to class as some people are sensitive and allergic to them.
 If you come late, that is fine, but please come in quietly and just join the class.
I don’t adjust my students so please listen to my instructions and demonstration. Do not look at what other people are doing in class as everybody is just doing their own thing within their own limits and you do the same. I want everyone to feel comfortable in the class And work at their own pace.
It is fine to skip poses if you feel they are too challenging. I teach a multilevel class which means I give you many different options. Just do whatever feels right for your body on the day and if you just want to relax that is also fine if you need a break come into child’s pose or just lie down on your back.
If you snore ( during relaxation) try lying on your left side or having a bolster under your back usually stops it.
Please let me know if you have any limitations or injuries before the class by coming early so that I can advise you. And I am free to talk to you after the class.

Prem Rachel Amendolia.
My Yoga Class starts on Friday mornings at 10am -11.30 am at the Peachester Hall for my 15 th year-It is such a joy.
The theme of this class is rehabilitate, rejuvenate rest and restore.
Suitable for raw beginners those with injuries, seniors and everyone in between.
I have been teaching Yoga for 28 years with a wide range of styles and experience.
I would love to share the benefits of Yoga with you.
